Yes

Patsypie · 17/03/2020 13:45

Yes! It's very chic!

Icecreamdiva · 17/03/2020 13:48

I wouldn’t. It reminds me of school/police/traffic warden uniforms.

Ninkanink · 17/03/2020 15:21

Definitely. If it is done well it is so chic.

chartreuse · 17/03/2020 16:31

I love them together, particularly if you mix textures, navy tights with black patent shoes, etc.

Very chic!

Mercurial123 · 17/03/2020 17:25

Of course.

reallifegetsintheway2 · 17/03/2020 19:30

It's a no from me. Someone at work had a navy blouse, cardi and navy trousers and black boots - no, just no. :) BUY NAVY SHOES / BOOTS !!

LadyEloise · 17/03/2020 20:53

Depends on what's navy snd what'black Smile
I got fab trainers in black and navy so they go eith the two colours I wear all the time.
I wish I could get a court shoe in navy and black.
I'd love to design a pair Smile

onwheels · 17/03/2020 20:57

Yes 100% nice little subtle detail to wear both together.

I dont like the navy that is more purple dye if you get me but i do like a proper french navy or deep navy with black,

SummersMahoosiveClipOnFringe · 17/03/2020 22:54

I think it only works with deep navy denim and black

JumboSauce · 17/03/2020 22:54

Never!

Fochit · 18/03/2020 08:42

Yes!!! Very chic
However, introduce a 3rd colour and you’ve lost it.

MoltonSilver · 18/03/2020 09:08

No.
It was in fashion for a while but I think that time has passed.

Ninkanink · 18/03/2020 09:17

‘In fashion’ has nothing at all to do with whether or not something is chic...

It has to be done well, of course.

Rewy · 18/03/2020 09:18

Yes

Elllllle · 18/03/2020 09:36

If it looks like it was on purpose, then definitely yes.

If it looks like you dressed in the dark, then no.

CountFosco · 18/03/2020 11:50

It's a no from me. Someone at work had a navy blouse, cardi and navy trousers and black boots - no, just no. smile BUY NAVY SHOES / BOOTS !!

This is a classic example of how not to do black and navy. It must look like it is deliberate and not like you just haven't thought out your outfit. So the woman above would have looked better if she had worn a black blouse or black cardigan or even black trousers. Black shoes with a navy outfit is the biggest no-no.
