Calling pears & hourglasses! Best shapewear / Spanx shorts

I am a size 14 extreme pear shape, thighs riddled with cellulite and need some serious smoothing down under a gorgeous but very unforgiving dress I’m wearing for a black tie event at the weekend - tights are not cutting it!

Due to my body shape I need the shorts style but typically they cut into my thighs - making it very obvious I have a pair of Spanx on 🙈 - and bag around my waist.

What are your faves?

I like Spanx Higher Power, which are available in knickers and shorts versions. They come right up under my bra. I only wear the shorts version under dresses and skirts as my thighs are big and they dig in.

Get an all in one smoothing “dress” rather than pants. If you type “shaping slip” into Amazon, it will bring up loads and even if you don’t want to buy from there it will give you a good idea of the various styles available.

Although I do like the 2 in 1 action of shorts preventing chub rub 😆

I find that the dress versions ride up over time. Not a good look!

I wear high waisted support tights. Mark's do a good version for 8 quid
