Favourite Red lipstick

What is it and why do you love it?

Mac lady danger, its perfect, nice consistency too, I so wear Ruby woo but find it very drying

How do you know what sort of red suites you? I have no clue! I have dark hair and eyes, and pale skin. Any suggestions?

@twosoups1972 it's something I've always wanted help in 😭 Whenever I see red lipstick worn by other people I always wish I could find the perfect red for me to, I would love to own a red lipstick.

@Layoverlife @twosoups1972 The beauty of Dior 999 is that it suits literally every skin type. It was designed to be a completely neutral red.

Popping on to ask is there a red like Ruby Woo that doesn't dry out your lips? That also stays put?

Lipstick Queen "medieval' is a really nice sheer red. I only wear red lipstick when I have a tan, and this one looks great in summer.

Clinique do one in their 'Pop' range of lipsticks, I think it's called Cherry Pop. Love it.

@FloraGreysteel Thank you for the suggestion I may have finally found my red! Whilst out shopping this weekend I will have a look at it and try it and hopefully purchase.

Dior 999 and D&G Devil are my two favourites.

Mine is a Clinique powder one. A very clear red.

Well LadyDanger arrived this morning and it’s dreadfully orange! Am gutted!

And the moral of that story is never buy a lipstick online unless it’s a replacement or you’ve already tried it. The same colour looks different on different people. My skin turns every red slightly bluer.

Well you lot must be a really strange colour then, because this is like a satsuma.

Turns purple on me and dries my lips.

I fond russian red bluey and lady danger orange and makes my teeth look like piss. You definitely do need to try a red. But the truest neutral ones are Jeffrey star red rum and estee lauder bar red. I have dior 999 Its lovely but i don't find it as bright and clean as the other two. Try loreal for some good cheapies. Also I think mac will swap for you you know. Apparently maybelline do a suits everyone red but I havnt tried it.

I have a couple of reds I domt use I could sanitise and send to you. Give you a chance to try. Tbh you can have the dior i dont reach for it. X

My current obsession is Ruby Woo with a top coat of Bobbi Brown Ruby Slippers. It’s a glittery sheer-ish red that was out as a limited edition at Christmas. Despite the glitter it is very moisturising so it offsets the drying effect of the Ruby Woo I loved it so much that when our local BB shop was selling off the last of the stock I bought three more.
