blackheads/pimples on 6yr old

My child has a few blackheads on the forehead and nose.

(I actually think it might be sebaceous filaments on the nose, but they are quite visible, and it's def little blackheads on the forehead.)

I've left them alone for now, but they are starting to affect my child's confidence, so I've gently extracted a couple of the blackheads post-shower.

I feel like it's too young to be using 'skincare' on their delicate skin, but
can anyone recommend any gentle products... cleanser or toner, perhaps that would be suitable for this young age?

Is your dc a girl? Are they overweight? Are there any other signs of early puberty? If so I would go to the GP

NotSoGoodFaith · 08/03/2020 23:23

Yes, a girl - and has confirmed early puberty from the dr, who acknowledged the skin, but no recs on how to deal with it. Not overweight, very sporty and has a great diet.

Ok in that case treat her skin as you would treat any teen skin. Clearsil, teen facials (you may need to contact spas or beauticians for the products they use as they may not be able to treat her directly), and regular steaming of pores before using a blackhead remover.

I just wonder if they will be too astringent on her... in all other respects, it's very young baby skin!

Can I suggest gentle cleansing and toning. You don't want to over strip the skin.
Have a search through Korean Beauty threads on here. You'll find lots of info.

@Silverstreaks - gentle is exactly what I'm after.

K-beauty may be a bit full on?

I'm leaning towards a face wash like cerave and a rosewater toner...

would she need moisturiser after that?

I bought DD who is 11 some face wash from a company called Spots and Stripes.

It’s supposedly created for pre teen skin so might be gentle enough. I’ve been quite impressed with it.

Perhaps use those nose strips for blackheads?
They definitely give me good results.

@gracielooloo that Spots & Stripes stuff looks just the job, thanks!
