Dress for a wedding

Hello mumsnetters I need to buy a dress for my step sons wedding in July. I am 6ft tall and a size 18, hate the tops of my arms and legs so has to be calf length. I quite like this style. Any ideas? Budget around £250
Thanks!

It’s very casual and very bright too. Is it a casual wedding?

itbemay1 · 07/03/2020 15:03

Yes it's on a beach @Bluntness100 difficult to know what to wear!

I really like the shirt style dresses that Kirstie alsop wears but maybe not so bright and actually the yellow may be a bit much, I don't want to stand out too much!

Ah, ok that is a very big drip feed,,,🤪

Bluntness100 · 07/03/2020 15:44

It would be perfect for a beach wedding.

Thank you! Yes prob should have mentioned that part Confused might find a less bright colour though...

I just bought this for a wedding - I'm wearing a chiffon bolero over the top. It comes in a Tall version (I'm 5'11 and also an 18) and it's really flattering. Not too heavy so wouldn't be too hot for a destination wedding if you wanted to go a bit more formal.

The bright colour works if it’s somewhere hot and sunny. It just doesn’t work so much in a formal Uk wedding on a dreary day.😂

I got married on a beach, trust me keeping cool is the answer. The dress would work well.

This is nice too, and more in the style you were looking at, although not sure how you'll feel about the split front

The second one is gorgeous but I'd have to popper the split!
Thanks

It's Ireland so yes a good chance it won't be sunny!
