Advice please - hair colour

I have dark brown hair and I asked for rose gold with a bit of pink. The colourist said he would probably be able to get a dark rose gold or coral. I said OK but absolutely no copper. I've got this! How can I tone it down, washing with blue, washing a few times or something else??

This is the pic I showed him and he said he'd be able to get something similar!?

I’m assuming he used bleach to lift your hair? Looking at it, it may well wash up to your desired shade, if you wash it a few times with head & shoulders.

I think it will wash out and look similar to the photo. Red tones are the quickest to fade and wash out

Thank you. Yes he bleached it (never been bleached before). Is Head and Shoulders particularly good for this? I've ordered a blue shampoo as well but wasn't sure what might happen.Grin

I think even just using normal shampoo it will fade down to the desired shade really quite quickly, without even needing to buy different shampoo. Green is the opposite in the colour wheel to red/pink so I’m not sure what a blue toner would do.

I wouldn't use a blue shampoo. I've no idea what would happen but I wouldn't risk it! I use a purple shampoo on my blonde hair to keep brassiness away. I'm not sure what blue would do to red and brunette hair. Head & Shoulders will help it fade quicker. I used to have bright red hair and also used H&S at the time and my hair colour would fade quickly. Your hairdresser probably did it darker than you wanted to make it last longer. If it had been light to begin with it would have been really faded within a few weeks. It looks really nice though!

Oh thanks everyone. I read blue shampoo would help with the copper/orange tones. I really like the pink bits but yeah I think I should steer clear of that and just give it a couple of washes. I live in a hard water area too so that will probably help as well! Smile
