Grey grow out and not happy!!

So I started growing out my grey in September 2018. Last Feb I had a pixie cut to get rid of dye which I loved but I’m a long hair girl (previous hair was very long dyed dark brown close to my natural colour) but I started to get some irritation with the dyes so moved to natural dye which wasn’t lasting long or covering grey well. Anyway, I’m now at chin length bob length but I just can’t get used to it. It’s salt pepper cinnamon and whiter/lighter at the front. It’s in good condition but I feel like it’s very ageing sadly. I’m mid 40s and unsure what to do about it. My original aim was to grow the length out cut fringe back in and then be able to wear up etc but I’m not sure I can hack it anymore. Anyone else going through similar? Anyone gone from grey grow out to blonde? Anyone used bleach London on grey or Josh Wood colours? Advice needed, sorry for long post.

I hear ya!

I've been growing out a pixie since August 2018, and it's now a chin-length bob with a nice fringe. I've been growing out my grey, but have recently reverted to some bleach hi lights (done freehand by my stylist) which I've toned purple / pink, as the grey just wasn't working for me. I have naturally mousy/very dark blonde hair, which I always used to light blonde, and I think I just don't have enough grey for it to look "right" at the moment. My roots look too dark, with white streaks through them but the white streaks are too thin. I have about 30% grey hair but it's not even - there's loads at the back, hardly any at the sides, and it's patchy on top! When I get to at least 50% grey I think I'll try again.

The only colours I've found that grab onto naturally grey / white hair are the colour conditioners from Overtone, and even then it's only really the blue ones that do it (I've tried their silver, blue, purple and pinks) .... I've found that I need some bleach in my hair for the colour to stick to ... Bleach London doesn't work on buy grey at all, unfortunately.

Bahhhh!!

My 8 years younger than me cousin has had grey hair for years
I’m 68 and still have loads of brown
She’s Been getting blonde streaks and it looks beautiful
It grows like wildfire and is so long and thick
She dresses very youthful too
Give streaks a go.
I have blonde streaks
Been getting them since my 20s
