What's best for achieving these curls?

I love this style. I have long hair, past boob length. I also have a selection of straighteners and wands but I don't have lots of time to experiment (busy one year old!)

What method and heat type do you think is best for creating these types of ways?

My DD does it with her GHDs. It looks amazing and stays in for ages. She’s bought various wands/rollers/hot air stylers but always goes back to her straighteners.

yes Ghd straighteners will do that. It’s pretty easy when you get the hang of it. Loads of YouTube tutorials will show you how.

Yes I can curl with the GHDs I think I must just do it too tightly as they are always more spiral than this

GHDs go too curly for me to get that style and I have similar length hair as you . I use a babyliss big wave wand and it's perfect.

I just can't get this look with straighteners or my curling iron. The only way I can do it is wit Curlformers and Waveformers. They come in different lengths and widths to help you get all different looks. They look difficult to use but they really are quite simple; there's loads of tutorials on YouTube. You can sleep in them if you want to avoid using heat. I think they're brilliant!

Just keep practicing OP. The waves you like are usually created with flat irons like GHDs but you want to try to get an even wave. Yours look more random. It is much harder to do on yourself and it is harder when you hair is. Keep at it and you will improve. If you really can't get the knack, you can do it with a curling wand - hold the ends of the hair and stop curling about 5-6cm before you get to the ends. The straight ends is what keeps it looking modern rather than Kate Middleton dated curls.

I think you're halfway there OP it just needs more finesse. I use my GHD's for this and they're the best. You need to separate the hair evenly, wrap around the straightener as you go and then hold it for a few seconds. Make sure you start the curl at the same point each strand and then brush it all out once you're done curling. It looks a million times better once it's been brushed- don't hack at it though, hold sections and brush from the bottom working up to the top and smoothing with your other hand.

A lot of it is having hair that already is in a good condition tbh. You need to eliminate frizz to get that look as per the photo- deep conditioning or hair serum etc.

Curly as you normally do, the finesse is in the brushing out at the end!

Try the Beach Waver. It requires less technique to get the loose curls you want than a GHD.

I use my Dyson Airwrap to achieve that look. Worth a look.

I'm sure I can do it more even, I usually go for a less even technique so it looks more natural 🤣 it's just time.... I have tons of hair and I need to do small sections with GHDS.

I think a beach waver would be quicker?

Ive just bought the Toni and Guy jumbo curling tongs which are really good. Big barrel so nice big loose curls
