Silk shirts

I was in marks and spencer today happily trying on outfits for my new job. I came across a cream shirt which hung beautifully. I forgot to check the price then found it online and discovered it is silk and silk is expensive 😭.

Has anyone come across a similar shirt i.e. cream, that isn't horribly cheap (i.e. makes you sweat)? Here is the shirt I love

That's not a bad price for silk. If you really like it, I would buy it. You can wear it twice a week and be happier that with two cheaper tops

Oh that's actually a really good price for a silk shirt. I've never seen a silk shirt priced at less than £100. I love the Boden ones but they are priced between £100 and £130. As I've got older I prefer buying fewer clothes but better quality so I will buy one cashmere jumper instead of two or three cheaper acrylic or scratchy wool jumpers. Same with silk shirts. They hang so beautifully and have a very slight sheen which illuminates your skin.
I'm going to have to buy one of those Marks silk shirts aren't I?
You could try eBay for cheaper ones.

That’s a good price! Especially if you can find a discount code somewhere.

Having done more research it is isn't it!

Funnily enough I went back in and found one by the Collection for 22.50 (not silk obvs) so got that for now, but the silk one is still on the radar. Very good point about wearing twice a week.

I agree about fewer clothes, I have just been having a wardrobe clear out and am shocked how much I have. Marie Kondo would be proud as I have been ruthless. A few things I have had for years (10+) so the right items really do last.

That looks a lovely classic shirt - I want one now! I’d look on eBay if it’s the price putting you off. Recently got a lovely polka dot silk shirt with pockets from eBay- it was also m&s.

Ooooo and its machine washable unlike my Hobbs silk shirts, I'm tempted too!
