Kids board shorts that aren't rubbish -help

I've just bought a pair of kids board shorts (like the boxers, not the tight school ones) from a not-cheap retailer and they're awful. The stitching looks like I made them myself and the fabric is all weird and stretchy. I'm going to take them back but I'm a wee bit at a loss as to where else to buy from. I'm so annoyed as I've been buying from them for ages and the quality looks like it's dropped off a cliff.

Can anyone recommend a good brand? Are people like Animal or O'Neill worth the extra money? If they look quite cool (DS is just beginning to care - he's seven) that would be great too.

Thank you! I know you're more used to women's clothes so I appreciate you even reading my plea! Grin

My ds’s have animal & O’Neill board shorts that have been going for years - we usually buy them on holiday in Cornwall - Ann’s surf cottage is good and has an online shop. They have a clearance bit too I think.
