Olaplex no 3

My bleached hair is now so damaged it’s starting to break off in massive bits

I think I’m going to have to lay off the bleaching for a while. I bought some Olaplex no 3 and also no 7 in a bid to try and strengthen it again.

It says on no 3 to put it on, leave for at least 10 mins then shampoo and conditioner as normal. Is this what people do with no 3? I was going o shampoo before and then put this on, leave it on for an hour and then just rinse and maybe conditioner after?

I wash my hair in the morning, towel dry, rub some no3 through it and leave all day (24 hours sometimes).

It’s in good condition but I live in a soft water area and co-wash also. (As i am coconut co-wash)

I wash my hair at night with shampoo only and then put on the olaplex. I wrap in a microfibre turban and sleep in that. Then in the morning I shampoo again and condition - in fact I pull an oil through. Before I wash it out my hair feels a bit weird and crunchy, but then after it's amazing.

This is how I was advised to get the best from it.

You definitely need to wash it out - it's not a leave in conditioning type treatment.

Definitely wash it out, I mixed up 3 and 6 once and took me a while to figure out why my hair felt so crap after I dried it...I may have done this for a week or so with 2 or 3 washes...pillock!

I wet it then apply olaplex and leave in overnight then wash off with shampoo, apply a hair mask and then put a shower cap on. Leave on for at least an hour then wash off and condition. Blow dry it with a big round brush and I never straighten it! I have my roots bleached every 6-8 weeks and a good trim and it’s in good condition. It did take me a year after a serious bleaching disaster (3 sets of full head of highlights) to get it in this condition by following that routine.

Thinking of getting some for me frazzled hair.
Those who leave theirs in over-night, how often do you do this?

I have not got the hang of it, so will try some of these tips; but I did read somewhere that you need to wash off the silicone (from your last wash/condition) for it to work well. So tonight I’ll try wash only then wrap in a towel, then once it’s damp not soaking pull some no 3 through and leave overnight then wash/cond again in the morning and see how it looks :)

Every time I wash my hair so 2-3 times a week.

I do it as often as I can as I don't often have time to wash my hair in the morning. Ideally once or twice a week.

I do use 6 and 7 every time I wash my hair and I'm just using up some old shampoo and conditioner then will be buying 4 and 5 again!

Oh yes, just to update, I do wash it off, but sometimes leave in for 12 hours in day, or up to 24 hours.

Also use no silicone at all.

I've just bought the shampoo and conditioner, do I need 3 as well ? I've got the 6.

Is the shampoo and conditioner worth the purchase?

For me the shampoo and conditioner are worth it, I've bought so many different brands but very rarely are they good enough to repurchase as I will be doing with Olaplex.

I dont think they still have it but SpaceNK had a holiday box with 3,4,5 and 6 which was really good for trying the brand out.

I use No3 once a week. I leave on 24hrs + depending on how pushed for time I am. Makes a huge difference. I don’t have bleach just tint.
