Wow, I so want to go on this programme. They both looked amazing afterwards. Both had beautiful blue eyes .
I loved the short hair cut

SleepingStandingUp · 27/02/2020 22:15

Yeah farmer lady didn't look younger, she just looked "better"

LaMarschallin · 27/02/2020 22:19

Didn't know this was on - damn!

Just wondering, did they - like on the old "10 Years Younger" - get the original age estimated by having the subject exhibited in shit order and w/o makeup and asking people out of said subject's earshot?

Then getting the average age, post makeover, by asking people right in front of the subject?

Because I reckon those circs would cause people to knock off another 5 years or so, on top of the more youthful look, just to make sure they didn't cause offense.

I was about to start a thread on this when I saw there already is one so can only add I am in shock at the transformations. The same series a few years ago was amazing with Nicky Hambleton Jones and what I like about it is they do men as well!

All edited and cut right down to an hour so there is a lot they have to skip over and I do wonder is it all really done in just 10 days but who cares, the end results are marvellous.

Tonight's two ladies already had gorgeous figures and good bone structure so they looked fantastic at the end but the makeup is usually too thick and not practical for their everyday outdoor lives but for special occasions those women know how striking they can look.

A follow up 6 months later would be interesting! See if they have kept up the new looks.

Love it!

Many years ago I had a friend who applied to go on the programme. She tried really hard to look as dowdy, plain, desperately in need of a make over, as possible. She was unsuccessful because she didn't look old enough!!!. She was gutted.

Pieceofpurplesky · 28/02/2020 00:47

I agree with a PP that farmer lady did not look younger - just more glamorous. I thinks she looked older than 54 - like a glamorous movie star but about 60.
She looked gorgeous - just not young (disclaimer she is only a couple of years older than me)

Sarcelle · 28/02/2020 08:48

I thought the dog walker woman was very pretty without them doing anything. When she smiled her face lit up. She didn't really need anything done. She just need confidence, better clothes, better posture. She had all the raw ingredients anyway.

It would be quite nice if they did this without botox and fillers. To show what can be done without going down that route.

Notonmyshift · 05/03/2020 21:53

They totally transformed Julie

Florabella · 05/03/2020 22:01

On tonight's episode the older lady tried on her first dress from pretty little thing. I can't see it on the website, but wondered if any of you stylish ladies could find it or something like it?

thenightsky · 05/03/2020 23:26

Got it recorded so will watch tomorrow.

Mollypolly2610 · 05/03/2020 23:38

I would love to go on it and I am OLD! Loved the veneer teeth my teeth are awful and would like to have the Botox and fillers.

TimeForPlentyIn2020 · 06/03/2020 01:00

I assumed that the way the farmer lady was talking at the end was cos of getting used to her new teeth. Thought they both looked stunning at the end.

I agree @Rebellenny .
That eye makeup and hair was not the most flattering

Liddell · 06/03/2020 17:38

Rebelleny

I didn't like the transformation either, she reminded me of Joel Grey in Cabaret.

All the old ones are on all 4!! Although that bloody Nicky HJ is annoying !!

JMAngel1 · 06/03/2020 21:47

I think there should be disclosure re how much it would all cost plus the maintenance cost requirements. Would be jnteresting to see if they all keep up with treatments, hair, filler, botox etc.

Theroigne · 06/03/2020 21:50

I’m sorry but I never agreed with this programme. I hated the way in which women were picked apart - as if it was somehow their fault - for going through the very natural process of ageing. I thought the presenter was like a frozen, heartless android.

I’m gutted that it’s come back as I think middle aged women are feeling shit enough for the unstoppable tyranny of shame over ageing.

oohnicevase · 07/03/2020 07:02

I like it , sometimes people don't know how to make the best of themselves . This one doesn't have any plastic surgery beyond some new teeth So is a lot better than the previous series .
That woman aside from anything else looked a million per cent better just woth the clothes and teeth because she wasn't making the best of herself
It's not as if there is a man behind her whipping her to do it ... SHE wanted to !

mycatsmellsbad · 07/03/2020 07:12

The look on the husbands face when she came out made me well up!

Gwenhwyfar · 07/03/2020 11:13

It's MUCH kinder than the old ones where they really ramped up the body shaming. You can see old ones on YouTube including one where the stylist calls the woman flat chested and they give her a horrible mullet hairstyle.

There are also ones where they go back to visit people they made over before and they do seem to keep up the work.

princessTiasmum · 07/03/2020 12:04

I love this programme, it shows how even the frumpiest woman can make the best of herself
