Sun cream under or over moisturiser / make up?

I want to use sun block on my face to prevent further ageing (wish I'd always done this) but unsure how I'm meant to apply daily under or over moisturiser or make up?
What order do you apply everything and what Sun block is best for the face with make up?

I go moisturiser, sun screen, make-up.

I use the simple spf 30 pollution protection sun screen, it sinks in nicely, doesn't give me spots and works like a primer too.

Have tried more expensive ones but keep coming back to that one.

What about reapplying through the day?

I don't, my foundation has spf in it though and I sometimes touch that up

Have you tried Ultrasun Face? It's applied once a day, and goes on first (you can put serums etc on afterwards). There's spf30 or 50, with or without tints and various other things. I use the spf50 with anti pigmentation every day. It's a decent moisturiser, I don't burn and my hyperpigmentation is less noticeable than it used to be.

I use day moisturiser with spf 30 and then in the summer bb cream with factor 50 (which I can top up) or foundation in the winter that had spf15.

Got very aware of skin cancer in my early 20s so have worn spf religiously for 10 years. Definitely prevents freckles and sunburn.

But if you want to do them separately it's sunscreen after moisturiser but before makeup. Many primers will have spf 15 which should be enough for the winter but probably not enough for the summer.

Oh, and check the uva rating (the stars was "invented" by Boots so isn't used by all brands). This is what causes aging / lines and can penetrate glass etc., so if you sit by a window or drive a lot, put some on that side of your neck, arm and hand to even things out.

I use Clinique city sun block, it’s tinted Moisturiser, so can be used on it own or under foundation. It’s is SPF 45. Think they also do SPF20.

I also don't tend to wear much if any makeup in summer as it all just melts off and my skin is pretty good in warmer months anyway when it's not being alternately frozen and dehydrated from central heating, so I just use superdrug kids factor 30 (comes in a roll on, very light and non greasy, smells lovely, doesn't aggravate sensitive skin, cheap as chips, actually stops sunburn)

No make up will protect you enough, because unless you are trowelling it on you simply don't put enough makeup on.

Sun block is meaningless as a term as nothing blocks totally (you'll notice you see the term used less and less)

Biore Watery Essence SPF 50 and Frezyderm are the best IMO though the La Roche Posay heliocare range is also supposed to be very good.

Sunscreen over moisturiser, or instead of, and under makeup. I'm using the cosrx aloe soothing sun cream at the moment and really like it. For top ups during the day, when needed, I use the La Roche Posay mist one that's meant for spraying over makeup.

I go moisturiser, sunscreen, make up all year round.

In hot summer when I need to frequently reapply sunscreen I fake tan my face and only use a bit of concealer rather than foundation/bronzer/blusher.
