Confirmation, what to wear.

Just that really. I'm a sponsor at a child's confirmation. It's an evening celebration as opposed to early morning. I'm tempted to just wear my work clothes. I'm open though to something new though, but something I can wear again and again.
Colour isn't a problem, I like most of them. I don't like very fitted clothing, I also hate anything wide legged or palazzo but I am otherwise open.
I'm 40, a size 8-10, larger boobed so nothing low cut, ideally with a bit of stretch. I love a knee length or shorter, but am equally happy with a maxi or midi dress if you can advise on what to put on my feet with it.
I own a formal black mid calf coat, a lighter knee length pale pink, and a leather jacket, and an assortment of down coats . I don't plan on a new coat, and am happy to take off my outer layer in the church.
Many thanks.

Just wear something smart. Nothing too casual. Same sort of thing as if you were a wedding guest.

Have you checked with the childs parents what they're wearing? Something along the same lines.

Yes, smart trousers and top. Nothing ott festive.
When DD was confirmed most I wore leggings and a tunic from Zara and her Aunt sponser wore black trousers and a silky shirt iirc.

Dressier than jeans (although there may be sponsors wearing them) but not OTT. I agree nicer work clothes would be appropriate.
