Lipstick too bright

So I messed up ordering online and my new lippie makes me look too vampy.

Blotting it repeatedly looks okay but dries my lips out.

Is there anything I can put on before or after to make it less showy?

It is Clinique Berry Pop.

Don't swipe It on your lips, just dot it on with a light touch and spread using ypur ring finger. That should give a toned down, blotted effect without the "brightness"

Alternately layer it with another colour: a light brown, candy pink. Experiment a bit. The Berry Pop can either be the bottom layer or the top.

Either way apply sparingly. Your lipstick will last ages as well. Win-win!! Grin

Heh I pretend I do Lottery Grin

No law against using your pinky: go for it if feels comfortable. People recommend the ring finger because it is light yet stable. I think...Halo

You can mix it with any other lipstick to get the colour you want, a bit like mixing paint in a paint palette, then apply with a brush.
Like mixing different shades of foundation to get the exact colour or texture you want.

put it on after lip balm or pat it on lightly and then follow with lip balm. It will look like a soft tinted balm.

If lipstick looks a bit stark on your face, try rubbing your finger around the outline of your lips. This softens it just enough.
