Help me with blending my foundation please?

For some reason I can’t blend my foundation any more. I use Mac liquid studio fix,it actually looks a bit orange and I think I need a lighter shade for the winter months.
Anway,I’ve tried with and without primer. Foundation fluffy Mac brush and a beauty blender and it just doesn’t blend well at all.
I have rosy cheeks and pigmentation on my cheeks. These are the problem areas for me and it just looks crap.
Any application tips please?

I use my fingers, leave it for a couple of minutes then reapply just where needed again using my fingers.

It may not be your application technique if you’ve been using it without shade/texture issues previously.

Have they changed the formulation?
Have you had it a long time and It’s expired?
Have you changed a skincare product that goes underneath it?
Or, the most likely, your skin changes as it ages and stuff stops working as it used to so you need to switch up the products you use to get optimal results.

Yes I think I need a new foundation.
My skin is pretty smooth,it’s just an array of colours hence the need for foundation.
