I’m a Winter and have played it safe for years with greys, navy and black. I want to wear more colour. I’m a size 16 - 18 and short. I want to buy quality clothes that will last.

I prefer edgier styles I think. I’m not keen on the Lindybop type styles that I see suggested a lot here for overweight women.

Any suggestions?

Might be worth a look in Cos, a bit of an edgier look, but great quality clothes. Some of their cobalt blue things are just amazing. Sales are good too 😉.

All Saints is good for a more edgy vibe, although the colours are mostly black and grey.
Mint Velvet do colours well, might be worth checking there, black jeans still but with colour on top near your face.
If you still want dark, aubergine might fit the bill.

I wouldn't write off Kettlewell entirely. Their stuff is generally not my style at all, but I find their basics such as vest tops, long sleeve tees etc, and their accessories really useful. I wear them with my usual clothes that I like, which tend to be at the black, grey and navy end of things as well as being scruffy - I'd love to say 'edgy' but it's really not! So I can have a good range of really nice colours that suit me just by using layers or a scarf etc.

Try Simply be hanky hen tunics. There is an excellent green one there at the moment. It comes with a hideous patterned one that gets donated from me! There are lots of great colours - magenta sweat tunic, and dip hem ones- worth a look. Bought some fantastic dungarees from them too it a black stonewashed denim- they sound horrid but look really nice on in reality.
