Face wash recommendations

I have been using Superdrug's Naturally Radiant foaming facewash for a while and my face got on really well. My skin is great on it.

Unfortunately I just tried to buy more to find it has been discontinued.

Given my skin did well on that can anyone recommend an alternative?

I can go pricey if I have to. Obviously finding another high street product that does a good job is the dream though.

Temple spa cleansing lotion is my fave. Washes off.

Littleshortcake · 22/02/2020 21:50

Liz earl cleanse and polish is lovely and it lasts

buttonmoonb4tea · 22/02/2020 21:51

I use B Clean Hydrating foaming cleanser from Superdrug. It's quite often on the half price offer too

MistyMinge2 · 22/02/2020 21:57

I've used loads of face washes over the years, but the best so far is Balance Me pure skin. No nasty stuff, and my skin feels clean but not stripped.

BinkySodPlop · 22/02/2020 21:59

Philosophy Purity Made Simple. Brilliant creamy face-wash / cleanser. Gets every scrap of make-up off of you need/want it to, when used with cloths etc, or can just put a blob in your hand, put it on your face and rinse off for a nice clean finish.

Glossier milky jelly.

Non foaming. Smells of roses. Leaves my skin feeling gorgeous.

Anything foaming makes it tight and dry... but this is bloody great.

snappycamper · 22/02/2020 22:21

I have the same skin as you OP. Can't beat dermalogica, it's amazing. I always come back to it if I try something else

UrbanMage · 22/02/2020 22:26

I use a teatree one in the shower in the morning. Then wipe over with miscellar water/ glycolic pads (Aldi Nip and Fab dupe) afterwards. In the evening I use Aldi's Liz Earle hot cloth dupe before using their pixi toner dupe.

Once or twice a week I use the Aldi pink facial scrub. And a face mask at least once a week.

I’ve been using this for a few weeks now and it’s been great - my skin is looking and feeling fabulous

DOES anyone ever use soap and water to wash their face anymore, or is everyone blinded by the called experts. who say that there fancy expensive products will make your skin so fabulous, whilst making millions for crap mainly.

I actually love the Body Shop so now intrigued to try the carrot cleanser mentioned up thread. Gets great reviews. I currently use the Clinique bar soap (less plastic) and love it

mocha78 · 23/02/2020 07:52

Glad you asked this op. I’ve used the Neutrogena 2 in 1 clear and defend wash/mask since they released in around 1998. It helped clear up some bumpy skin i had on my forehead and I’ve been too afraid to try anything else since! Now however at 41 my skin feels drier and looking to change so glad for the recommendations too.

UrbanMage · 23/02/2020 09:56

@1forAll74 I would if I wasn't allergic to a lot of bar soaps. And the ones I'm not allergic to can be drying on my skin, so I stick to what I know. I do use a lovely Dr Botanicals one in the shower, just not on my face as it's too fragrant.

TorkTorkBam · 23/02/2020 10:04

1forAll74 I use Dove bar soap on my body and it's great. On the odd occasion I used it on my face my face got very dry and tight. Definitely not right.

I used Clarins gel melt for years I recently switched to Caudalie Vinopure and it is wonderful my skin is shiny and glowy, but it is quite drying so I upped the moisturiser and I have fewer bumps under my skin.

Sakura7 · 23/02/2020 13:06

I have found soap so much better for my face than any face wash.

Something like a gentle goat's milk soap would work well and shouldn't irritate your skin. I'm currently using the green Pears bar for my face in the morning (and Cetaphil cleanser to remove make up at night). The difference is unbelievable. I think face washes don't clean as well and leave residue behind. I used to get horrible cystic acne and blackheads and the Pears soap has stopped them completely.

I have been using Cidal soap for the last couple of years and my skin has been spot free in all that time, in fact it's the best it's looked in a very long time. I then put on my favourite L'Oréal moisturiser,
Got fed up of spending pounds on particular face washes only to still get blemishes. I pay 99p for 2 bars from Home Bargains. It works for me.

TheLightGetsIn · 23/02/2020 20:07

Neal's Yard rose face wash is lovely. Very gentle and also very moisturising.

Picassosdove · 23/02/2020 20:22

Aldi Pink clay hot cloth cleanser. Fantastic for the money!

OxanaVorontsova · 23/02/2020 20:24

The Ordinary squalane is lovely

bingowingsmcgee · 23/02/2020 20:44

My skin absolutely loves the original yellow bar of dettol soap. £1 for 2 bars and my oily skin has never been clearer or happier. You'd think it'd be dreadfully drying but I haven't found it to be.
