How to clear my spotty back?

I have luckily never really had spots on my face, even as a teenager but I am in my late thirties and still have a horribly spotty back. I have tried changing shower gels with no effect. It's been like this for over 20 years so I don't think there are any other irritants or anything. I have a dress with a sheer back that I want to wear next weekend and have realised that the three enormous spots at the top of my back are all visible through through the dress- is there anything I can do?

The Ordinary niacinamide has made a big difference to my spotty back. I spread it over my upper back using my hands. Also The Ordinary salicylic acid is good. I find it’s good for putting directly on a spot to kill it off. Sudocream or toothpaste are handy options too.

You need Clinique blemish spray. I had a backless wedding dress and two weeks before I broke out. It cleared it up a treat.

I would spray it on after towel drying after a shower. I'll see if I can find a link.

Can't find a link for this stuff, damn, sorry OP it may be discontinued. Ugh.

Boots has a tea tree line that includes a back spray, it cleared up my back really quickly.

Pure tea tree oil.

A friend of mine had this issue for years and she said she figured out it was conditioner that was causing it. She stopped washing her hair in the shower and only over the bath. The spots cleared up.
