Confidence

Just curious when you feel most confident and can I steal some tips. I'm a size 14/16, dress pretty well most times but currently looking at a reasonably tight jumper dress I've purchased and thinking about the tight underwear I'll need to get myself looking great in it. Then I look at Instagram and see women just owning it e.g. Lizzo. How do I get this confidence to wear whatever I want!

Start with the shoes. Maintain a good posture.
Who is Lizzo?

I worked on my identity and where that came from. That gave me the confidence to wear what I want.

I know that what other people think of how I look doesn’t change who I am as a person and I don’t dress for their approval. I also started noticing what other people wore, and even if it didn’t suit me I could still think about how they had chosen it and liked it.

I looked up Lizzo. She looks great.

Next time you go out take a good look around you. Most people aren't conventionally beautiful (though you really can find something beautiful in everyone).. They usually aren't quite the right shape or weight.. Often not wearing the "right" clothes (Style & Beauty would have a fit).. And yet, if you watch them they are out there living their life, making the most of everything, regardless. This means that all the things we worry about don't actually matter that much (if at all when you strip it all away).. And we should do the same.

Find your confidence in THAT.

Wear the dress, enjoy every minute of it, and don't give a damn. You are worth it, and it really does not matter about anything else.

Thanks all, I don't think I look too bad but I'm conscious of my belly and wearing as tight underwear as possible to flatten it out. But I also like to wear sexier underwear too. So what to choose, sexy but not tight, or extremely tight!

Sexy but not tight.

I dress for my shape rather then trends. Some things I'd love to wear but they're just not flattering. I'm 14/16 with a nipped in waist but my lower belly isn't my best point. I make sure to show the best things off and skim over problem areas

I plan most of my wardrobe around hiding any bumps or unflattering angles.

It’s rather exhausting and a bit sad really.

I second what @SpottyShoeBow says, I don’t notice other people worrying about it.

I guess I see bigger women owning their clothes and looking amazing. Confidence is a huge thing.
