Best full coverage foundation

Hi

Can anyone recommend a full coverage foundation that isn’t too Matte but also not too shiny?

I’ve been using Estée Lauder double wear for years as good for coverage as I suffered with acne but skin is a lot better now.. however one thing I don’t like about it is it’s really matte and I find my face looks dull sometimes.

I tried YSL touché eclat fondation but it’s way to greasy and makes me look shiny.. have used Mac in the past but again by the end of the day look shiny.

I just need an in between or a way to not make the Estée Lauder look so dull

??

I quite like the ordinary's full coverage foundation, although it could have better staying power

Revlon colour stay. Less than half the price of Estée Lauder double wear. Doesn’t budge throughout the day. The one for dry/normal skin isn’t as matte as the one for oily/combination skin, but isn’t at all shiny either.

I second the vote for Revlon Colourstay foundation. Have used for over ten years. Get compliments on it and my skin is far from perfect!

W7 legend foundation cheap as chips and exactly the same as double wear. Even comes in virtually the same bottle Grin

Avon's Power Stay

Mac foundation is soooo good

How do you apply DW? I find if you use a Real Techniques miracle sponge you get a really sheer finish and very different from if you use a brush.

I've heard good things about the Avon one too.

Lancôme Teint Idole is a beautiful foundation

GrassyGreen · 18/02/2020 01:30

Armani

Or Fenty

I bought double wear because I live in a really hot humid country and sometimes I want my skin to look good but 'normal' foundations don't really last, I don't want full cover but I want some cover, I use a damp sponge and work quickly. It makes my skin look good and isn't cakey BUT it does highlight my wrinkles a little bit more than I'd like. I also have l'oreal true match, much creamier and pretty good coverage. I'd say medium to full.

Thank you for all your suggestions

@maddy68 MAC made my face very shiny by the end of the day I did use it for some years though

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor I use a real techniques brush is the sponge like a beauty blender ? Maybe I will try applying with something different. Do you dampen it before hand ?

@GrassyGreen do you mean the Armani silk fondation ? I’ve wanted to try that for a while .. my friend has also suggested Fenty

@BusterGonad another poster has said they used double wear with a sponge.. I think I might need to try this as I’m currently using a brush. I’ve uses it ever since my early 20s and I just love the staying power And seem to always go back to it even if I try something else but I wish it wasn’t so matte

Op give it a go with a damp sponge straight after moisturiser, I've got dry skin so I use the thinnest coating, I only use it neat on my jaw line where I get red bumps that are unsightly. DW isn't my favourite foundation but on days where I feel like more coverage it works. My favourite is Laura Mercier. It's candle light glow or something similar. It's not full coverage though but goes on like a dream.

BusterGonad · 18/02/2020 08:23

Laura Mercier candle glow soft luminous. As the title says it gives you a gorgeous glow. 😊

nonsensicalmess · 18/02/2020 09:25

Have you tried dw light op? Not as matte but still decent coverage.
