Work Clothes

I am spurred on my a useful thread on here about revamping your wardrobe.

I am thinking about work clothes. I don't have seperate clothes for work. When I go out in the evenings its mainly from work so I can't see the point in buying 'going out clothes' but I now feel as if I don't look or feel any different at weekends and days off to when I'm at work.

I like the retro style of tunic dresses and shift dresses and leggings. But for work I am wondering about getting just some basics. I see that M&S are doing a kind of work wardrobe where you can mix and match but then I am thinking would I look the same every day at work, will I be wearing the same jacket and skirt every day and just alternating jumpers and t-shirts. Will people think I've gone on my high horse wearing a suit type outfit for work?

What do you think? Does anyone here have a work wardrobe and other clothes for non work days?

I suppose I have a bit of a work uniform, but begrudge spending money on work clothes so I never have enough of them.
In winter, I usually wear dresses or a long sleeve top and pencil skirt, with cardi/jumper/tights/boots
In warmer weather it's usually slim cropped trousers, shirt/blouse and brogues.
Pretty dull but I've learned over time that this works best for my figure etc.
