Which colour?

Probably a stupid question, sorry, but I'm rubbish with colours and have worn some pretty dodgy combinations in the past. Hmm

I want to buy a warm hat and gloves as my hands are constantly freezing. My winter coats are mostly black or navy, with one olive green jacket. I'm looking at knitted hat and glove sets that come in olive green, navy, or stone/oatmeal colour. Which would be most versatile, do you think? I presume not navy, as I can't wear that with a black coat - so olive green or oatmeal? Which would you get? Will be hoping to have these for years, so don't want to regret the colour.

I’d go for olive green from your choices but my own choice would be deep red / maroon.

You can’t suit all of those colours OP . Buy whatever looks best against your face . I’m autumn / warm colours and would be olive but that wouldn’t suit if you were cool and black was good on you .

Never had my colours done, so I didn't actually know that you can't suit both black and olive green - I thought I looked OK in both and that pastels were the only no-no for my skin tone. Blush I do know that navy is great on me, but obviously I can't wear navy and black together.

Maroon sounds lovely actually, but isn't an option for the knits I'm looking at.

Oatmeal will go with all of them and less harsh than the others next to your complexion imo. I also think something with pink or red tones is flattering as it brings a warmth to the skin which is why on my Nana's advice I always choose a pink umbrella!

My wide variety of scarves, hat & gloves don't actually match but all have pink in them!! So they tone in.

Go for the colour you enjoy wearing the most.

Navy and black are fine together and actually rather on-trend. Olive green sounds nice to me though.
