Dark circles under eyes

Does anyone have any tried and tested tips for dark circles under eyes (not make up). Even after an ok sleep they're as bad as ever.

Bobbi brown colour corrector
and concealer

Londonborncatty · 15/02/2020 14:52

I like clarins. In comes in a tube and is liquid. Doesn’t set in creases.

Louisaweezer · 15/02/2020 14:54

Red colour correction

veryvery · 15/02/2020 15:00

Check you're not anaemic, that can make them look worse.

veryvery · 15/02/2020 15:01

Oh and wearing glasses hides them quite well. Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/02/2020 15:12

I’ve had them since I was about 4, never found a cover up that worked.

I live so bloody healthily too.

Yogatoga09 · 15/02/2020 15:14

Becca eye brightening corrector. Wear it under concealer. Fabulous stuff

Destinesia · 15/02/2020 15:16

Could they be "allergic shiners" ?

Dozer · 15/02/2020 15:16

What do you mean “not make up”? It’s largely genetic so apart from sleep/good food/water v little to be done about it, other than make up!

Sakura7 · 15/02/2020 15:37

Yep Dozer, I don't think there's much you can do other than cover them with make up. I've tried many products over the years and nothing can get rid of them.

SenecaFallsRedux · 15/02/2020 15:42

Make-up doesn't work if the circles are caused by shadows created by puffiness. Even a small bit of puffiness creates the problem. Concealers can actually make it appear worse sometimes.

Singsongbird · 15/02/2020 15:56

@dozer I was hoping someone had a miracle cure, like an eye cream or vitamin supplement to magically make them disappear.
@Destinesia I've not heard of allergic shiners before but I'll google.
@veryvery I don't think I'm anaemic but could probably up my iron consumption. I do feel constantly shattered.

Thanks for the make up tips.

I wish for a miracle cure too. I have resorted to wearing glasses most of the time. Smile

LynetteScavo · 15/02/2020 18:26

You need year trough fillers. So do I, but I just use a decent concealer and glasses. Grin

LynetteScavo · 15/02/2020 18:27

Tear* trough fillers

wonderwooman · 15/02/2020 18:32

I have always had terrible dark circles and concealer has worked a bit but not brilliantly. I am also healthy and drink plenty of water. I have recently invested in two Kiehls eye creams which so far seem to help, just because they look more hydrated. I use the Creamy Avocado cream during the day and the specific wrinkle cream at night. I am 44 and have quite a few lines already. The concealer now seems to sit much better and I look far less haggard!

frugalkitty · 15/02/2020 18:51

Nothing works on mine, either creams or make up. I'm thinking about wearing my glasses more as that's the only thing that helps! The bottom of the frame sits at the bottom of the circle so basically hides the change in colour.

SenecaFallsRedux · 15/02/2020 19:03

Yes, it's a good thing that glasses are actually a fashion item these days.

ColouringPencils · 15/02/2020 19:55

@Destinesia thank you for posting that. I often have dark circles even if I have slept well. Sometimes I worry I look like I have black eyes. My daughter gets them too. We are both asthmatic and now I wonder if it is related.

I agree that sometimes concealer seems to make it more prominent, but I thought that was because I was wearing a cheap concealer.

DinosApple · 15/02/2020 20:39

Thanks for posting. My DM & me have always suffered from this. DM has a much darker skin tone so hers aren't so obvious. I'm pale like dad. I just use Rimmel concealer. And glasses. I'll try upping my iron too.

Comes in handy when I feel ill and look like death. Gets sympathy from my work colleagues. 😂
