Glossier - does it live up to the hype??

I’m very tempted by the Glossier stretch concealer right now, and have seen the great reviews on their site.
However, I’m 42 with spotty, blotchy skin and dark circles/lines.
Is their stuff best for younger skin?
Anyone in their 30’s/40’s or older tried it?

I'm nearly 45 if that counts Wink

I like their cleanser & priming moisturiser, lip balm ( can't be arsed with lipstick most of the time, I use their cherry one), cloud paint cream blusher & their super bounce serum. I had a bottle of futuredew which I didn't like at all - I passed onto dd (19) & she uses it as a highlighter. The skincare edition is really good value if you want to try a few things, all the products are a decent size.

I'm thinking of trying the vit C serum (super glow), skin tint & brow boy when I run out of what I'm currently using.

I find Beauty Pie to be just as good, but a fraction of the price.

I do really rate Glossier’s Balm Dotcom though. Especially the tinted ones.

I'm 48 and I use the stretch concealer but only as a top up e.g. like in the middle of the day when things start to slide, or after a gym class. It's good and gives a good finish, but for me it's not enough on its own.

I've just ordered a sample of the Futuredew oil serum off Depop to try. I also have one of the Cloud Paints which I like a lot, like a 'just been outdoors for a brisk walk' kind of flush.

If you want a really bloody good concealer, try Revlon Candid. I bought it a couple of weeks ago in Sainsburys and haven't used anything else since. Most concealers sink into my fine lines, but not Candid!

Thanks for all the advice.

@mrslebon - I do have the Candid one, but find it too drying. Might retry it with a heavier moisturiser underneath.

ah yes, it is quite dry I agree! But I'm quite oily/shiny so it's ok for me. I use the Polaar Icy Magic eye serum underneath if that helps. It's the only product that has ever reduced my dark circles!

I’m 43 and don’t find the stretch concealer enough on its own as it’s very lightweight. It’s a nice texture, would have been perfect twenty years ago!

tigerbear · 12/02/2020 19:25

Thanks all, I don’t think I’m going to get it.
@mrslebon I tried the Candid again today with a different moisturiser, and it’s much better 👍

I really like the Cloud Paint and Boy Brow. Don't rate any of the skincare. Their cool girl bollocks marketing sets my teeth on edge.
