A few years ago I bought several of these stretchy, ruched, jersey dresses. I needed to be smart for work and traveled a lot and these were perfect as they are machine washable and could be rolled up in a suitcase and not need ironing.

I wore them with high heels, tights and a black blazer style jacket.

Are they dated now?

Keep or donate to charity shop?

They don’t look right with flat or chunky footwear (on me at least).

I’m 5”7 and size 10 with a (slightly) wobbly post-baby tummy if that matters to your decision!

Thank you Grin

They do look a bit "ten years ago", but everything comes back around. I'm sure the 2000s revival will be along soon (possibly not with the Radley bag too shirley but what do I know? Wink)

If there's a chance you'll be needing them for work in the near ish future, I'd hang on to them, at least until you've found a new, easy "uniform" to replace them.

Do they spark joy Wink?

Get rid imo

If it's a style that still suits you and you haven't found a convenient replacement I'd keep enough that you have a reasonable work wardrobe for a couple of working weeks. If you'd never choose to wear them them they are best sent to the charity shop.

I'm an hourglass so don't do "fashion", I do fits and suits me which is currently mutually exclusive... I would never ditch "acceptable" work clothes without having a better replacement in my wardrobe!

I’d keep

Keep the black

I think they are dated and the ideas to dress them up will make them look even more dated.

The block coloured dress and high heels look is so dated, my friend who works in International Finance has sold all these type of dresses on eBay (hers were very expensive) and swapped to separates, its a more modern look. I also think if / when you are middle aged in a professional role, you don't want to look dated. If you still need dresses for work, I would look into some patterned, less tailored, dresses (Like Kirsty Wark) or midi dresses with ankle boots.

Update - the dresses have left my wardrobe Grin

I would donate. Somebody else may get good wear out of them.

Missed the update sorry OP! Well done!
