I am after the holy grail- I wear a full face everyday but don’t like to look “Cakey” I normally wear double wear but i would like so thing more glory if that’s possible? Although I do love double wear, a good range of colours would be great as I really want a good match. What are your favourites?

Laura Merciers full coverage one

Shookethtothecore · 11/02/2020 17:25

I’ve heard great stuff about their powder aswell, my ELF powder isn’t cutting it anymore

Nars Natural Radiant Longwear foundation! Full coverage not matte but not too dewy. It's been my HG since it came out a few years ago. I've worn it for 14 hours loads of times without touch ups and it still looks great.

Shookethtothecore · 11/02/2020 19:09

Thank you I’ll look at that one aswell

I really like the no 7 hydroluminous I think it is, very natural but good coverage and moisturising.

Girlintheframe · 11/02/2020 19:41

Bobbi brown long wear looks very natural. Good build able full coverage, feels and looks like skin. Good staying power too

vaz119 · 11/02/2020 21:49

I love the new urban decay (think it's stay naked). Long lasting but non drying and doesn't settle in my lines!

FloofenHoofen · 12/02/2020 09:16

NARS is terrible if you have dry skin. Bobbi brown is ok but will make you break out in spots after wearing it.
Giorgio Armani luminous foundation is really good for full coverage silky look.
Mac is also very full coverage but also very matt.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 12/02/2020 09:28

I love this Lancome foundation. I'm mid 40s with normal to dry skin and it sits well on my skin and lasts all day and night.

Thank you, lots mentioned here that have been mentioned be ali andreea on YouTube and I love her looks and advice. The Dior show also comes up popular,
The Armani one was the one I think I was going to go for, it has excellent reviews. I wish you could have a small sample tho, the amount of money I’ve wasted if foundation and had I tried it for a few days before I would of known 🙄

The samples of the Lancome makeup are a really good size, they come in a tube and you'd definitely get at least 3 goes out of one.

NanTheWiser · 12/02/2020 15:06

Diorskin Forever Undercover is my go-to, I tried a EL Doublewear sample, which didn't quite come up to expectations, so will continue with the Dior (I'm 73, btw).

Flygirl94 · 12/02/2020 15:52

The new Charlotte tilbury airbrush flawless I think it’s called. I’m the same, been using double wear and wanted something lighter on my skin but full coverage

Shookethtothecore · 12/02/2020 17:33

I’ve been reading a lot about Charlotte tilbury , her “look” on the campaign images at the moment is what I would love, i was worried it was over hyped but I will add that to my list, so they do samples? Good to know about Lancôme

I love my Marc Jacobs remarcable foundation. Tiny amount needed and it's got better coverage than double wear. Wish I had it in my winter shade but i only bought it in my summer shade.

BigRedBoat · 12/02/2020 17:50

Clinique beyond perfecting, although if you're very fair the saved range isn't fab

Summer23 · 12/02/2020 17:53

Find DW is very ageing now. I like Nars Radiant Longwear, very natural but unfortunately it transfers. Charlotte Tilsbury flawless just doesn’t suit my skin, every pore was visible. Still looking for the holy grail!

Witchofzog · 12/02/2020 17:56

Phoera on Amazon is by far the best I have ever used. I have been a dw and Mac studiofix user in the past. And it's under a fiver!!! Fabulous full long lasting coverage.

Shookethtothecore · 12/02/2020 18:13

@witchofzog how do you colour match from online please?
It’s absolutely clear now that my skin is aging by the way double wear is now sitting, it’s a shame because I absolutely loved it, tawny is the perfect shade for me and it’s always done me well but I can see every line and pore now with it on- and I’m good with my skincare regime aswell

@Summer23 transference drives me mad- also my children end up with darker foreheads when the snuggle into me 🙈

I used dw for a while, years ago, but found it quite cakey.

I switched to Dior Forever which is definitely worth a try. I like it.

oohnicevase · 12/02/2020 18:55

Prinarks equivalent is brilliant ! I use it with a foundation brush and they coverage is amazing and lasts all day but isn't cakey.. I'm sure it's made by someone high end !

Aridane · 12/02/2020 19:10

The Lancôme one @LifeInAHamsterWheel refers to is good - full coverage but not cakey. However, it’s not ‘glowy’.

I prefer Lancôme’s Teint Miracle - and layer it up for fuller coverage. I look healthy and a wee bit glowy wearing it!

Tartyflette · 12/02/2020 19:14

I bought the Armani foundation after reading all the hype and was underwhelmed. It's not right for my normal to dry skin, it feels thick and heavy and oddly dry on me.
The coverage isn't all that great either. The colour is ok.

Tartyflette · 12/02/2020 19:18

Shook i have heard of an online matching service where you input the colours and brands of the foundations you use and they will tell you equiv in other brands.
Now if only i could remember what it was called. Sorry!
