Undercut- barbers or hairdressers?

I want to have an undercut at the nape of my neck. Am I better to go to the hairdresser or barbers? Would love one if the patterned ones like you see online a lot as I do wear my hear in a top knot a lot, but it's also because I get hot really easy and a lot of my hair has broken round the nape of my neck and looks dreadful so it would be cooler (as in temperature wise) and neater. It's not so much to be trendy (though that's never a bad thing) but I don't want it to be badly done and have to hide it either. Thanks

I’ve always just had it done at the hairdressers. I know a few women who’ve been turned away from barbers but they’re maybe not all the same!

I got mine done at hairdressers. Not patterned though so easy to maintain myself. Not sure if you could maybe get hairdresser to cut the undercut in and then barber to maintain the pattern?

There are some barbers near me that do cut women's hair. I can't even find pricing for an undercut at any of the women's hairdressers. I don't want it cut or coloured in any other way, just the undercut.

I get my undercut done at the barbers, but I chose one with a female barber (no logic in that as my hairdresser is a man).

It's so much cheaper!

@FoxRedBitch

Yeah that's a big incentive for me because They grow out so fast I'd need it cut a lot

I first had mine done at the hairdressers (Saks). Stylist refused to do it as I’m a dowdy looking 41 year old and they didn’t do “edgy” styles (wtf?!). Anyway, after much persuasion the manager did eventually do it. I’ve had it over a year now and I love it - can’t see when it’s down which is good for work but so much cooler when it is up (I do a lot of sport). DH does it every few weeks with his beard trimmer. Mind you he is a sheep farmer so he’s used to shearing things 🤣
I’ve not got patterns on mine but I would like to.... has anyone got patterns and if so what have you got?
