If you had a £50 MAC voucher..

So my S&B friends, I have a voucher Grin

I only use Blankety from MAC and have never got on with their foundation. I'm happy with my existing mascara/eyeliner/shadow palettes as I stock up in Sephora when I visit the US..

What do I need from MAC?

I'm getting married in June so is there anything in the skin care range? A reasonable primer? Moisturiser? Does MAC sell such things?

Thank you!

I really like their lipsticks and eyeliners. Or maybe you could get a couple of brushes?

FormerlyFrikadela01 · 09/02/2020 15:39

I'd buy lipstick or blush. But that's becasue I bloody love lipstick and blush.

I wouldn't get brushes. My understanding is the quality had dropped since they went all synthetic (but the price didnt drop with it).

I was in this position recently and really didn't know what to get. i needed a tinted moisturiser so bought this

www.maccosmetics.co.uk/products/13847/Products/Makeup/Face/Foundation

it's really nice and buildable but i wish it were more dewey.

however i also got this which i mix with it...

www.maccosmetics.co.uk/product/20158/364/products/makeup/face/highlighting-contouring/strobe-cream#/shade/Pinklite_Original_Strobe_Cream

it's lovely a bit like clarin flash balm.

Pajamagirl · 09/02/2020 17:10

Strobe cream , makes you look lit from within if u use under foundation , picks you up if you are looking a bit flat for whatever reason
Also can use on top of foundation for a highlighted sheen on cheekbones

Pajamagirl · 09/02/2020 17:11

Cross post with @KaliforniaDreamz
👍

KaliforniaDreamz · 09/02/2020 17:15

Pajamagirl i actually wish i had got a larger tube now....

emma6776 · 09/02/2020 20:48

Strobe cream. It’s my favourite makeup item! Also the setting spray that smells like coconut.

locoroco · 09/02/2020 21:45

Lipstick & blusher

KaliforniaDreamz · 10/02/2020 08:22

I also got something called prime fix (i bought at xmas time and got a little set) i had no idea what it is and felt like it was a total waste but actually it's nice - gives you a good glow.

AmandaAppleton · 10/02/2020 08:23

Book a session with one of their make up artists and get the £50 as credit to spend

YeahNahWhal · 10/02/2020 08:30

I'd get a colour correcting concealer - apparently theirs are great for dark circles. Also would be hard to go past a classic red lipstick.

TheReef · 10/02/2020 08:46

I'd buy a lipstick.

ThisIsOurStory · 10/02/2020 08:47

Soft and Gentle skin finish, it's absolutely beautiful for those days when you want a bit of a glow but not full on highlight, I also use it as a quick eyeshadow. It's my favourite product ever, so easy to use and always looks lovely!

Also second the strobe cream and their mascaras are amazing too

cujo · 10/02/2020 14:28

I’d get
A shape and shade eyebrow thing, Awesome!
The strobe cream
An eye kohl. Love powersurge and teddy.

Bananaman123 · 10/02/2020 20:31

Lipsticks and a fix plus

GoshAnon1234 · 10/02/2020 20:50

Lipstick in Velvet Beige. Iconic and truly such a great colour for all skin tones. Cant think of a better bridal colour!

babysnowman · 10/02/2020 23:16

Blushbaby blusher looks great with Blankety.

Soft and gentle as mentioned above.

I love their lipsticks - have about 8 of them in various shades and they last really well. Ruby woo is quite a popular red shade - every one appears to own it and it suites most people. I also love the red shade chili as it’s more of and orange red that a pink red. I have quite a few brown shades but I know it’s not so popular now to wear brown lipstick, I just love the whole 90’s grunge look still and it suits me. I also do personally love the photo fix foundation but it’s mainly because they actually have my perfect shade. Most brands lightest shade ‘porcelain’ or ‘fair’ is still about 2/3 shades too dark for me.
Can’t say I’ve been too impressed with other products I’ve tried like eyeshadows and blush. They are ok but for the price not as good as I think they should be. I’ve got cheaper products that are much nicer to work with and give a better finish.
