DH and I are attending an event in London with a ‘smart casual’ dress code, and I’m stumped. Starts in the afternoon but there will be an after party that will go into the night.
Jeans and nice tops aren’t really my thing. I’ve got a number of dresses—mostly either black or navy—that I could wear, but am afraid to stray into cocktail territory, and I don’t want to be overdressed. How smart is smart casual? Could I do a classic figure hugging LBD and dress it down with a flat ankle boot? Or a knee length turtleneck dress?
