The ordinary Sunscreen

Has anyone tried them? What are they like under makeup?

At the moment I'm using La Roche-Posay 50 + which is ultra light and fab under make up but is double the price of The Ordinary.

I don’t like it at all. Very oily and makes my makeup bobble.

Biore watery essence from Amazon is brilliant though.

Girlintheframe · 05/02/2020 08:36

Ah I wondered if that might be the case! Very hard to get a sunscreen that's good under makeup

Unlike a PP, I don't find it oily at all. Quite the opposite - it's very chalky because of the high amount of zinc in the formulation. It leaves a white cast on the skin which is noticalble on me even though I'm pretty pale to start with. It's not really obvious when I put make up on over it, but if I were to go around bare-faced I'd look ridiculous. I'll use up what I've got left but I wouldn't repurchase.

Asian sunscreen is the best I think. I agree with the PP who recommended Biore Watery Essence from Amazon. I used this for a while. I now use Biore bright face milk in the pink bottle which is probably even better. Amazing under make up.

It’s very white and chalky

I changed from the lrp fluid to the gel cream that comes in a pump

Girlintheframe · 08/02/2020 06:19

Will try Biore once my current one runs out. Thanks for that, had never heard of it before.
Can I ask, what's the difference between the blue and pink bottles?

If you like lrp they are sometimes on offer on feelunique boots or their own website
I always stock up

BemidjiMinnesota · 08/02/2020 12:26

Like previous posters I found the Ordinary sunscreen very chalky.

Currently I'm using this SPF50 mattifying face sun screen from Superdrug it's £3.99, or 2 for £6. It sits well under make up and doesn't leave a white cast. I got it on a whim just before I was planning to order a £25 sunscreen from Korea, so that saved me lots of money!

@Girlintheframe I think the blue Biore contains alcohol which was fine for me as I have oily skin. However as I aged I found it made under my eyes a little tight which accentuated my fine lines. The pink one has no alcohol and the slightly pink colouring adds a very slight glow to skin.
