Nails

I want nicely manicured nails all the time. I get rips, snags, chips. What do you have on your nails and what would you recommend- products or tips wise?

I've tried gel -shellac and gellux at the nail salon. The minute it starts to grow out and I snag my hair by getting it caught as the nail lifts, I have to take them off.

I've got Barry M, vinylux, sally Hanson, Essie polishes at home.

Can anyone recommend a brilliant top coat?

I have recently had acrylics for the first time ever (used to always have gels which I did ah home). I had the acrylics pretty short as I'm not so keen on very long nails on me. I have been so impressed by how well they're lasting I'm intending to have them done all the time. It's been four weeks now and they still look perfect apart from some regrowth at the bottom (but my nails grow slowly).

They are extremely strong and it's been great not having to worry about my nails for a month. Gels only last a week on me before they chip.

Hope that helps, though I'll be interested in seeing other replies.
