Hair removal advice please

Hello MNs
I prefer to remove all my pubic hair, but find waxing excruciating and hate the regrowth. Fed up with shaving. Please don’t advise I let it grow back, never going to happen. What methods do you use ? Please tell me there’s a method that lasts and that I can afford.
Thank you ladies.

I use a home IPL laser (not actually ALL over the pubic region, but bikini line, underarms, legs and OH's back Grin). Mine is a bran silk expert, but many brands are available. They work best on pale skin and dark hair, so no good if you have very dark skin or red/grey hair.

Its supposed to be permanent eventually. I've used it a year, although not as often as I should. I'd say I've lost about 1/2 the hair which now doesnt grow back. You can also go to a laser clinic. Their lasers are stronger, and you need less sessions for permanent hair removal, but they too are expensive.

I wax, it definitely hurts less each time.

If I could, I would get it professionally lasered off.

Have you tried removal cream?

StarlightLady · 03/02/2020 19:41

I used to get waxed but l didn’t like the regrowth in between.

These days l use a Quattro razor with hair conditioner as opposed to gel or soap and the razor glides. Once every 2-3 weeks l use a mix of Veet Sensitive and the razor prior to the final wash off.

Beware though, in spite of your opening comments, the “MN You Must Have Pubic Hair Police” will come after you on here and tell you that you are the work of the devil for having a personal choice!

I'm just finishing up a session of being professionally lasered and it's been a game changer for me. Thrilled not to have to keep going for waxes. It cost about £400, but that is for armpits too. Worth every penny.

LochJessMonster · 03/02/2020 21:02

@Didntwanttochangemyname That’s good to know, I’m considering it.
What did you do inbetween sessions, as I hear you can’t wax the regrowth?

Hoppetyflop · 04/02/2020 08:03

I also use IPL on my underarms ans barely anything grows now. I've not braved the downstairs area yet!

I saw on hotukdeals yesterday argos were selling a machine for £27.99 on their ebay outlet. Worth checking it out.

Hoppetyflop · 04/02/2020 08:10

Sorry should also say that IPL does have amazing results however if you have hormone changes it can effect the regrowth

EmpressJewel · 04/02/2020 08:13

Try groupon for laser deals, much cheaper than going direct.

Livpool · 04/02/2020 09:09

I use an epilator. It hurts a bit at first but fine now. Definitely less painful than waxing for me

Didntwanttochangemyname · 04/02/2020 20:30

@LochJessMonster I've had it done in winter so armpits haven't been too much of a worry. My bikini line has been a constant source of amusement since I started laser, rather tufty! But after the first 2/3 sessions (5 weeks apart) it's pretty much done now so it's only a problem for a few months and now it's a lifetime of no more wax!

StarlightLady · 05/02/2020 06:37

@Livpool - You must have the most violent waxervin the UK! Grin I think l’m joking but...

StarlightLady · 05/02/2020 07:10

Correcction: “Most violent waxer in the UK”.
