Could someone please help me find an outfit for a wedding in a couple of weeks? I usually wear jeans, and don't like dressing up, but would really like to make an effort for this occasion.
I'm 5' 8", probably a 14 on top and 12 for trousers. I have broad shoulders, small boobs and no waistline. I will probably need dress, wrap, shoes, maybe bag. Shoes are always a bit of a problem. I'm middle-aged, so nothing too short please.
Budget - don't really know. I begrudge spending too much on something which will only be worn once.
Any suggestions please?

Is this the sort of thing you were meaning when you said about print on the skirt?

I'm following your post because I'm also looking for a wedding outfit, although I think our shapes are styles are totally different, so it's not really helping!

However, shoes, I've gone through so many uncomfortable formal shoes, and realised that I have to stick with a block heel to be able to dance. I also have narrow ankles, so always need a strap. What about these?
Clarks

I've found very comfortable sandals in River Island in the past, but they don't seem to have anything particularly appropriate at the moment.

And the blue dress if you think it's posh enough for a wedding and the jigsaw tux jumpsuit which I can't post a picture of.

The dress with the correct accessories would be fab
Not school teacher at all! I work in a high school and there is a distinct lack of dresses like thisGrin

Hhmmm not sure about the jacket. Definitely not in black. Maybe grey.

What could I wear apart from a faux fur jacket or blazer? Is that it really?

Thanks I'm leaning towards a blazer. I should be able to choose one I would wear again.

@EmmaJR1 no, not quite like that. Unfortunately, I can't really describe what I mean. Maybe the same shape of dress, but the fabric might have a skyline along the bottom, with witches flying above that, then clouds above that, etc. I've only ever seen that style at weddings, and I suspect the ones I saw came from the same place. I should have asked at the time. Usually matched with Irregular Choice shoes!

Don't get hung up on the skyline & witches, it could be anything!

I know the look you mean. Lindybop is a good place to start.

The phase eight jumpsuits are lovely, And now I’m going to have to order another one to add to my collection. Grin However they are usually long in the leg @KedsAndTubeSocks and if you can’t wear heels you may need to leave time to take them up but could then wear whatever you want on your feet.

Nanna50 · 03/02/2020 20:08

I have worn a duster type jacket with a jumpsuit for a wedding, it was matching but doesn’t have to be.
