I currently have the regular but it's getting old and stringy. Is the gel effect one different/ better and if this isn't the best top coat then recommend me one please!

I've not tried the gel effect one, but seche vite was quite shrinky on me, which meant my polish would peel off or chip quickly.

I love Sally Hansen's quick-dry top coat. I do my nails a lot so have it on a monthly order with Amazon Prime. Blush

BeeFarseer · 02/02/2020 21:05

Forgot to say, most quick dry top coats do go thick and stringy over time, I don't think it can be helped.

polkadotpj · 02/02/2020 21:12

No I think the stringing is to be expected
I'll check out the sally Hansen one thanks

I always found the Revlon top coat was the best imo.

AutumnRose1 · 02/02/2020 21:32

I love Seche Vite, does anything else work that well? It goes stringy so fast, about 20% into the bottle.

Nails Inc Kensington Caviar Top Coat makes my polish last a long time.

Nails Inc also make Lacquer Lock Top Coat which they claim will last for 14 days.

AutumnRose1 · 04/02/2020 18:15

Are the other products so fast drug though? That’s the main appeal of SV. Thanks!

AutumnRose1 · 04/02/2020 18:15

*drug = drying Blush

BeeFarseer · 04/02/2020 18:27

I find the Sally Hansen one almost as fast-drying, but not quite. There's not much in it though.

AutumnRose1 · 04/02/2020 18:39

Thank you Bee. I’ll try that and hope it doesn’t go stringy!

BlackSwan · 04/02/2020 20:30

Mavala Gel Top Coat - it's quite thick, you have to work quickly with it, but I rate it more highly than Seche Vite.

polkadotpj · 06/02/2020 21:30

I've tried the Sally Hansen but it's chipped already! Might buy some more of them to try!

I have the thinner for seche vite and that works well. I also find that the older it gets the thinner it should be.

RapidRainbow · 06/02/2020 22:30

Save your pennies, Rimmel Gel Nail top coat is the one

stickleback123 · 07/02/2020 13:13

seche vite just peeled off:(
