Loafers!

I have found an old pair of loafers in the back of my wardrobe and it seems loafers are everywhere in the shops at the moment. I’d like to wear them now but it’s too cold without socks or tights. But are socks or tights with loafers a big no no?? I’m clueless!

Anyone? Before I potentially commit a crime against fashion??

I wear tights and loafers with a dress or skirt to work each day, black patent ones! But if with trousers or not in black, I don't!

I like them but I wouldn't wear them with socks at the moment (which also means I wouldn't wear them at this time of year because I don't believe in being cold). However that's the fashion victim in me speaking, which is not a side of myself that I'm proud of.
Plus there will probably be someone along soon to tell us they're wearing them with socks again in Shoreditch, and where have we all been?
Which is probably no help at all. Basically I wouldn't agonise about it: wear them with socks if they feel right and if they don't then avoid until it's warmer.

I wear mine with silk socks, I'm 48 and my priority is keeping warm. I've seen loafers with socks in Vogue a few months ago so it's definitely not a crime against fashion.

The person in Vogue was wearing regular clothes not high fashion and she looked good. Keeping warm is my priority so I'll keep on wearing socks.

Can you imagine just being snapped in the street and ending up in Vogue?! Not sure that'll ever be experienced by me!

They’re quite dark loafers in that photo aren’t they. Mine are more a light tan colour, I think I’d risk tights but not socks.

I get my socks from Falke they also do a silk mix which are nice and a cheaper option.
