Did you bag a bargain today?

I popped into Oxfam today for a mooch and bagged a bargain - a Tatty Devine cherry blossom bracelet - for £2.99!

Checked online and it's £50!

I know Tatty Devine isn't to everyone's taste, but I have a soft spot for kitsch acrylic jewellery and I love a bargain. Grin

Now, at the other end of the price scale and decidedly less kitsch, I'm currently hovering on the Coach website and trying to decide between the Market Tote or the Sutton Hobo... can't decide!

I never find bargains in charity shops. But i did find a leather bag in Debenhams for £39. Down from £110!

Ofthread · 01/02/2020 18:56

I had a haul today, two outfits including 1 pair of shoes for £100. That's pretty good for me.

MilleniumHallsWalledGarden · 01/02/2020 19:06

Got a pair of half price boots! I'm very pleased Grin

Ninkanink · 01/02/2020 19:42

Not today, and not as bargainous as yours, but I did get this pair of boots the other day for £55 down from £179.

Nice finds!

Any other gems since the new year @SingingSands ?

Coconut80 · 01/02/2020 20:25

Xiaoxiong · 01/02/2020 21:45

Won a 100% silk red Amanda Wakeley evening gown on eBay, worn once, for £50. I have a big event coming up and I really hope it looks good on me!

Salene · 01/02/2020 21:49

Pair of trainers / shoes for my son £51 down to £10 - delighted Smile

Mummacake · 01/02/2020 22:13

Gorgeous pair of navy leather Emu short boots for £30. An absolute steal 😍

SeaOtterFluff · 01/02/2020 22:16

I found a lovely Hobbs skirt in our local British Heart Foundation shop for £6 today. It's navy, wool and slightly daring length so I'm looking forward to wearing it with navy boots and my favourite grey jumper!

Commonwasher · 01/02/2020 22:28

Great thread!

Love a charity shop!

I got a Hobbs shift & jacket in navy woolly felt stuff — £10, a J Crew silk shirt £6 still £160 online (best find ever!), a pair of boden trainers nearly new for £6.50 and a black Superdry cashmere jumper for a fiver.

I only go in actual shop shops when I need something specific like school shoes for the kids or am very tight for time.

SingingSands · 01/02/2020 22:34

Nothing much of note @TeaAddict235 . I was trying to be good and not buy anything new in January, unless it really was a bargain!

I did get a navy jumpsuit from Boden, (after spotting it on a Mumsnet email!) although not worn it yet and a much needed new pair of trainers for the gym, bought at the Nike outlet store for £32.

Lots of deals bagged today on shoes and boots I see! Always great for perking up the wardrobe I think.

And well done on the eBay Amanda Wakeley gown @Xiaoxiong that is a great find! I hope you're pleased with it and enjoy the event.

I do love a charity shop gem @SeaOtterFluff - my winter work wardrobe relies heavily on short wool skirts with a nice jumper and boots, so easy (and cosy) to wear. I picked up a lovely wool black and pink check skirt last week from the Cats Protection Shop for £4.

Still undecided on which Coach bag to get, probably a sign that I don't really need a new one..!

Gemma2019 · 01/02/2020 23:43

I bought three dresses last week and they arrived today and all fit perfectly. Hobbs £9, Joules £9 and Boden £7 for brand new dresses - I'm so pleased. Also got a pair of Mary Jane type shoes in Lulu Guinness for £30.

SouthWestmom · 02/02/2020 08:49

I love Coach let me take a look at your choices....my wardrobe shelves are loaded with their bags, scarves and walletsBlush

Commonwasher · 02/02/2020 08:51

@SingingSands oxfam!! And the boden shoes were the hospice shop.

Have to be in the mood to rummage Wink

TeaAddict235 · 02/02/2020 19:23

Ooh @Commonwasher , those sound like tasty finds!

When you find a treasure trove shop, you can't help but frequent it often. It's recycling I keep telling myself! Just saving another garment from the tip Grin

Commonwasher · 02/02/2020 19:29

Yes it’s a little bit addictive... and I had just marie kondo’d my wardrobe (well not quite, but I took out enough that I could shut the drawers...) now back to square one Grin

purdypuma · 02/02/2020 19:47

Our local Cancer research shop is having a kind of clearance sale so I bagged 4 items for a quid each! Per Una long cardi, M&S 100% cashmere jumper with a rhinestone skull on it, Topshop grey tunic top & a DP purple crochet type jumper. All come up a treat after washing so happy days here!Grin

CtrlU · 02/02/2020 19:49

Got some decorative bowls from Sainsbury’s for £1.20 (used to be £5)

And I got a lack of 4 mugs from Sainsbury’s also costing £2.20 which originally cost £7 so I’m happy ! 🤗

partysong · 02/02/2020 19:59

@Gemma2019 -where is your stuff from?

roses2 · 02/02/2020 21:28

I regularly (once a month or so) find high end high street wear in my local Cancer Research. Last week I bought a Massimo Dutti navy blazer for £5. It's gorgeous and fits me perfectly! They had a few in different sizes so I am guessing a shop donated them.

I also managed to ģet a Dawn Levy raincoat for 99p plus postage today on eBay. Can't wait for that to arrive!

LuxuryWoman2020 · 02/02/2020 21:57

I found an unusual gold coloured necklace for £1.99 in a charity shop, completely untarnished and a proper gold colour, it looks quite expensive for costume jewellery, very happy with it.
