Fjallraven quality/ ASOS returns

Quite annoyed, on 21st December I got a fjallraven backpack and today the front pocket zip broke. The stitching In the centre has completely undone and the pull has come off the broken track. I’m annoyed as I have never spent so much on a bag before and after a month of light use a zip broke. my cheap one has lasted me 20 years prior to this! I only fancied a change

Has anyone else found the quality of these bags poor? Or is it just unlucky?

I got it through ASOS, does anyone have experience if their returns for faulty but used goods?

Thanks

I think you're unlucky as practically every second kid in my DC secondary School has one of these and they last forever and get totally battered on a daily basis.

So yes they are generally excellent quality.

Forgot to add my DD has had hers 2 years and it's fine, albeit a bit grubby.

VinceNoirsHair · 01/02/2020 18:47

Got my dd a copy off eBay for a tenner. No noticeable difference and it's still going strong six months even after a load of use for school.

Not sure how you'll get on with ASOS, tbh. They've really tightened up their returns policy, although I think with only having it for a few weeks, you should be ok. It should reasonably be expected to last longer than that, especially for the price.

This is the zip, the inside has frayed and come away. I’m hoping it’s ok, as it’s the front pocket it’s barely been opened and not had pressure on it. I’ve booked a return but they say they’ll evaluate if it’s a manufacturing fault. Fjallraven classes it as a fault so I’m hopeful...

Isn't there a guarantee with these bags? My Eastpak rucksack is guaranteed for 30 years.

I bought a Fjallraven just before Xmas and have used it daily, it still looks brand new! Can you contact them directly to see what they say?

Jozen · 01/02/2020 20:00

I've got a 10 year old Fjavellraven that's used daily and still going strong. It's a bit faded but all zips and stitching is perfect.
I think you've got a faulty one so definitely return.
I've only returned something once to ASOS, it was fine. No issues.

How annoying! I have one and it's travelled quite a bit with me and hasn't shown any signs of wear. Definitely return, they are good quality

ASOS are great with returns ime.

Aughrim18 · 01/02/2020 21:09

Returned some Christmas things
Really quick refund

londoncanyouwait · 01/02/2020 21:14

I've found ASOS to be brilliant with returns. Hope you get it sorted.

emma6776 · 01/02/2020 22:05

Asos are very good with returns for faulty items.

I had some boots from ASOS and the sole cracked on the inside after a couple of months. Their customer service just asked me to email a few pics then refunded me. The guy who dealt with me was very nice.

UpsideRound · 02/02/2020 08:01

Thanks Geralt, that reassured me a bit. I tried customer service but the guy just quoted the policy and said I could return them, but they would inspect and decide if it was a manufacturer fault. He then ignored further questions and a photo

They refunded really quickly, no fuss
