Talk to me about every day make up palettes

Recently I have sorted out all my make up so I have a small but really high quality selection for day make up and a few extras to switch it up for going out.
I’ve got a lovely foundation/tinted moisturiser, eyeshadow pomade, barely there lippy, blusher, mascara, eyeliner, concealer... but I’m looking for an eye palette for day to day make up.

Anyone got any recs? I’m not a fan of the reddish/rust tones and prefer greys, lilacs, soft browns and taupes...

Tarte's Tartelette/In Bloom palettes and their Tarteist palette have lots of the colours you mention, not the cheapest, but lovely quality.

Ooh thanks I don’t have any Tarte make up but will check it out

Revolution eye palettes are cheap as chips but really good. They have a massive selection

MolotovMocktail · 01/02/2020 09:00

I use the Urban Decay Naked 2 Basics palette for every day, and have the regular Naked 2 palette to jazz it up a bit.

If you like one shadow looks with a bit of sheen the Viseart Paris Nudes palette is my favourite for that. The Charlotte Tilbury quads are lovely and the Marc Jacobs Steeletto is also great.

For everyday I use the ELF The New Classics palette. It’s about £14 and truly bloomin amazing, I pick it over my much more expensive palettes every time.

Bobbi Brown.

WellHolyGodMiley · 01/02/2020 12:29

@ninkanink I see bobbi brown tutorials and she uses great neutral palettes but when I look at what's available to buy, they're all more pink or more shimmery. Annoying!

@Dennisreynoldsduster I am looking out still but I bought this cheapo one while I keep looking and I like it! for now

love this one

There are some good ones atm - something like this might work:

Bobbi Brown Essential Multicolour Palette, £32, in Blue Storm.

Or possibly, the same palette in Midnight Orchid.

You also have the option to create your own palette with single eyeshadows.

Another vote for Urban Decay. Great quality and lovely colours

TabbyCatPaws · 01/02/2020 16:11

I love Urban Decay palettes. They have quite a few to choose from and you can create lots of different looks from each palette.

Anastasia Beverly Hills soft glam

If I was you I wouldn’t bother with a pallet but just get a couple of shades you really like - one or two for day then a third for evening. I just find with the pallets that’s there is always a couple of shades you really like and some you never use. But the pallets are very successful so maybe it’s just me!

Ninkanink · 01/02/2020 18:33

Yes, Urban Decay are great too.

I’ve got my wistful eye on Chantecaille right now but, sigh, they’re on the expensive side!

Dennisreynoldsduster · 01/02/2020 18:35

Ooh so many good suggestions. I like the look of those Bobbi Brown ones.
Just going to browse all the posts now, bet I can’t just decide on one!

I love Chantecaille @ninkanink what have you got your eye on?

I’ve not seriously looked in quite a while because I can’t spend right now and I really don’t want to tempt myself...the last one I wanted was a save the rainforest one, I think? Or maybe something to do with Africa. Just love the colours and the silky smooth look of the eyeshadows.

RiskIt4Biscuit · 01/02/2020 18:40

I went through a period of not liking palettes. Now, I really enjoy having the shadows in palettes rather than single shadows.

I really like Colourpop Going Coconuts and Pat McGrath Platinum Bronze at the moment as these are neutral and cooler tones.

hotcrossbun4321 · 01/02/2020 18:41

You can buy an empty palette in Bobbi Brown and fill it with your own colours. I've also done a slim down of my makeup collection and have a 6-section palette from BB with 2 blushers, a champagne eyeshadow, one in rose gold and plan on getting a chocolate brown and taupe shade to fill the remaining 2.

I have that and Urban Decay Naked 2, and a small Benefit palette with 4 good neutral shades in it and that is enough at the moment

I bought one from Tropic, online, it was customisable that's why I went for it. I was impressed with it so bought a second one. In one I have 2 lipsticks, 3 eye shadows, an eye liner and a concealer. In the second I have a highlighter, bronzer, blush, and powder. It's useful as it wasn't preset.
