What can I do with unused make-up and skincare?

You used to be able to donate to some kind of women's refuge charity but I can't find the details anywhere. I know Sali Hughes set up something similar but her website makes it totally unclear where/how to donate. This is all good stuff, I do NOT want it going to landfill, so any pointers gratefully received. Thanks

Local hygiene bank or food bank

ForeverbyJudyBlume · 31/01/2020 16:45

will food banks accept them? I don't know of a hygiene bank

All the food banks around us take them. If you google hygiene bank it should show you the nearest collection point.

I saw this on Facebook - apparently it goes to women at refuges

Hmm, Google suggests Give and Makeuy may no longer exist but I did find this

Thanks everyone, there don't appear to be any hygiene banks anywhere near me - I might send off everything to Smart Works. If anyone has any other suggestions they're appreciated.

what about ringing women’s aid & seeing where their local drop off place is? I did that a couple of years ago when I had bathroom stuff, toys, linen etc that were surplus to requirements.

Women's refuge.

Beauty banks. Jo Jones on Instagram.

Beauty Banks (Sali Hughes/Jo Jones) have drop off points in Superdrug shops, definitely in the big branch here. (You can send stuff to them via Collect + but need to cover postage.)

Thanks everyone, I think I will divide what I have between the organisations mentioned here and post it all off – I don’t mind at all paying for postage. I live in London but not as far as I can see near any drop-off points at all
