What shall I do with my hair (pic)?

I've been growing out the colour for over a year. It's thinned a lot with age. It's got a wave in it but needs washing in the pic so looks extra straggly.

I've made an appointment for a cut tomorrow and have no idea what to ask for. Any advice?

The colour is lovely. I'm just starting to grow my grey through, after years of 5 weekly appointments to dye my roots, I feel quite liberated and it's great to see yours looking so good

It looks fabulous...(yours too user!) I’ve stopped dying mine as it was drying it out dreadfully & the colouring wasn’t great either. I love my natural colour (brunette), but the greys are winning the around my temples in particular, I wish mine was the same colour as yours, my mums was red/ginger and she gradually went blonde/grey and it looks great.

I've just bought dye to go dark brown as they didn't have the blonde highlight kit I was going to get. I feel this may be a mistake but the dyed bits are quite orangey in some lights though the grey is quite solid and a steel grey.

Wish me luck...

Due is on. I'm thinking of cutting off a couple of inches too. It's pretty long but I think a tad dry at the ends. Plus, not sure suits me. I think I suit short hair better. DH likes it long. Thought I'd give it a go. Not always convinced it looks nice.

Thank you for the positive comments. Not one member of my family has even mentioned it. Typical I suppose, I should be used to that.

Anyway, I won't be heading for the dye ever again, not now I've got this far. It looks patchy and odd to me but it's in good condition so I'll persevere.

My hair is naturally wavy @SunshineCake but not as organised (?) as it looks in the picture. The hairdresser used tongues through bits of it to get that effect. Hope yours turns out ok too.

Dh and dd like my hair. Both want me to keep it long. I'm not sure. I can rationalise it is better than it was but I'm annoyed I did it. Though I did it to cover the orange not the grey so maybe it will be okay.

@sunshinecake mine went very orangey when I moved from dyeing it brown go blonde. I then went lighter and more ashy as they suits my complexion, but it went a bit platinum blonde and so I've moved to highlights of ash and letting the grey through - I think it's the best colour in me for the last few years as it's natural

I was going to go lighter but the highlighter kit I wanted was too light so I let dh choose and I'm now brunette again.

I need to wash it today so it probably won't look remotely decent afterwards . Wonder how much a regular wash and blow dry is........
