black wide leg trousers £24
There are a few sale tops that would look good but depends on sizes available at your store - something like
satin wrap £8
Or
black button wrap top £8
Something with a v neck that is fitted or a blouse or shirt that can be tucked in to the trousers.

Do you have smart shoes?

Rollerbird · 29/01/2020 20:04

Shoes are OK. Not sure about the belly but will try on

Dorothy Perkins is good for cheap dresses.

this
this with black tights and boots would be smart casual.

SurpriseSparDay · 29/01/2020 20:15

Would this be too casual?

When is your event? There’s almost limitless choice - just a matter of whether things might arrive in time if it’s very soon.

okiedokieme · 29/01/2020 20:16

Supermarkets have nice clothes for that budget, though most shops will have something especially in the sale

SurpriseSparDay · 29/01/2020 20:24

This dress is dressier! No idea if your sort of style - but a bargain if suitable.

SurpriseSparDay · 29/01/2020 20:33

Perfectly simple and pretty dress available in a size 16. Bargainous and easy to dress up or down.

SurpriseSparDay · 29/01/2020 20:40

This jumpsuit might possibly be too dressy? It’s very much reduced and available in several sizes. (Perhaps they over-ordered for New Year?)

CallofDoodee · 29/01/2020 20:42

What about looking on eBay for some second hand stuff - you would be able to get something much nicer for the money.

SurpriseSparDay · 29/01/2020 20:46

This is very low key ...

SurpriseSparDay · 29/01/2020 21:04

But I’d probably get this as its wonderfully versatile. And in decent fabric. Pair with anything and you’d look ‘dressed’ but not overdone.
