Comfortable Mom or Straight leg jeans?

fastliving · 28/01/2020 22:39

I've got a couple of pairs of mom jeans from top shop and they are so stiff and uncomfortable.
I miss my skinny jeggings as I've got a fairly physical job (I wear jeans to work) and I feel really restricted in stuff jeans.

Anyone recommend any comfy jeans?
Im looking forward high/mid rise any style but skinny or bootcut.

M&S Sophia are high-rise, straight leg jeans and very soft and comfortable; currently my favourite jeans.

Have you looked at Levi’s? I have two pairs of 501s, and they are fab - mine are slightly cropped, but they do various leg lengths, plus loads of different colours. I have jet black ones, which I think are called “Black Heart” or something along those lines, and charcoal grey ones.

Size down, because they really do give - I’m a pretty standard 10 in places like Topshop and on the assistant’s advice got a 27 waist - and hang on from washing them as long as you can. I think they have about 2% elastane or whatever the stretchy component is.

I wandered in because my DP was buying jeans, and hadn’t had Levi’s in years, but I am positively evangelical about them now. My other faves are Whistles barrel leg, which is more “mom” like in ter,s of a high waist and tapered leg, the 501s are a straight cut.

Are the Levi's & the whistles jeans comfy though Julie?

Watching with interest, I have quite a physical job (ASN teacher I’m on my feet all day and am usually on the floor a lot too) we wear jeans and trainers!

I’m after new comfy jeans. I’m a size 8 but have a big bum and hips compared to my waist. Sometimes have to go up to a 10 to get them over the hips then they gape at the waist! My DD is telling me I need to get Mom jeans now.

Next relaxed skinnies. Love them.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 28/01/2020 23:21

I find both exceptionally comfy, but your mileage may vary! Maybe worth trying on to see what you think? Both do free delivery and returns if you can’t get to a shop, and I know the John Lewis here carries both brands.

yes I would agree with next relaxed skinny too. Really comfortable. and a good price for work wear.

FruityWidow · 29/01/2020 14:16

Levis 501s and 550s are 100% cotton and no stretch so quite stiff but personally I prefer that in a pair of jeans than the soft ones.

Uniqlo U curved jeans. Perhaps an accquired taste as to style but high waisted. Comfort ... now they're not soft like these 20 % lycra "jeans" everyone is wearing now. They do have a waistband. I think they're comfy though.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 29/01/2020 20:29

My 501s are not 100% cotton, so they do have stretch and are not stiff. Maybe the crop version has a slightly different fabric composition? This is the black:

Zara and quiz in Debenhams

Usernamealreadyexists · 29/01/2020 22:04

Zara classic mom and gap mom are good.

raisinseverywhere · 29/01/2020 22:48

I bought the Next relaxed skinny in dark wash and absolutely love the fit and colour. But there is a white mark on the leg which is meant to look like the material is worn, but instead it looks like a stain or bird poo! So returning them. Can anyone recommend anything else similar?

breadfortea · 30/01/2020 08:23

I've the mid wash ones , they dont have any marks or rips on.
