What is wrong with my skin on my face??

It's bumpy and red! Almost feels burning. times. Help lis it hormonal? Allergic reaction?

I started using Squalane but it was bumpy before that.

Stopped Squalane, even my face cream.
Stop the make up?

Do I need to see a dr?

Help, please.

What do you use on your face otherwise? The itching makes it seem like an allergic reaction to be honest but am not into giving medical advice online. Pop into the pharmacy and ask the pharmacist to have a look- try an antihistamine perhaps. See your GP if you're concerned or have other symptoms.

In the meantime I'd stop using anything fragranced, chemically, acid based and try to use gentle natural moisturiser to calm it down.

+1 for allergy. Anything new in your routine? Anything new you ate? I second seeing a pharmacist, might give you antihistamines

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/01/2020 13:15

Is it anywhere else on your body? When I developed a milk allergy I would have sworn it was just my face but it was on my trunk and I really hadn’t noticed it.

Azura2019 · 27/01/2020 19:32

Usual routine is simple face wash and claire moisturiser.
Come to think of it I used some soap on my face, may be that's triggered if.
It's been bumpy and red since Xmas so could be some food I had?
See attached pics of washed and nothing on. Beginning to feel sore , raw and very dry.
What can I put on to calm it?

Shall I see a Dr or pharmacist?

Not anywhere in my body, just face.
Should stop all make up as well then. I'm not sure how I can face people with skin like this now.
I'll wash the brushes as well.

I think the gp.

Do you use sunblocks? Or mineral make up? Some of them set me right off but I’m allergic to nickel, cows milk, sulfite preservatives.

Azura2019 · 27/01/2020 19:55

No sunblock and no known allergies. I'll give Gp a call tomorrow.
Thank you.

Interested to know what the GP said?

Hoppetyflop · 04/02/2020 08:34

Have you tried a dead sea salt wash? I swear by it, completely transformed the skin on my face. My daughter also had bumpy skin and ive used the mix twice on her skin (shes only young still so not using it as frequently as my routine) and alresdy there is a difference. Give it a go

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 04/02/2020 10:17

Looks like something you e put on your face doesn't agree with your skin.

Stop using everything and take antihistamine and use the cream too,if that helps you know it's an allergic reaction.

Azura2019 · 06/02/2020 21:25

Sorry for the delay, I haven't been to the GP but seen pharmacist and on allergy tablets to see if it helps, see how it goes for a week. Less bumpy but still
Itchy skin.

Don't rule out hair products as a cause either.

AtrociousCircumstance · 07/02/2020 11:13

Hopperty can you tell us more about the salt wash please? Brand/method? Thanks!

Hoppetyflop · 09/02/2020 08:51

Sorry for the late response, i dont get alerts!
This is the one i use (also in Asda for £2 at the moment)
www.boots.com/westlab-pure-mineral-bathing-dead-sea-salt-1kg-10187091

Directions are on the back for a bath in this however I usually take a pinch in my hand and mix with a bit of water (maybe a handful) and simply wash an already clean face (I use bodyshop seaweed face wash before). You must dissolve the salts first otherwise they may irritate the skin, however if you have dry skin it mah tingle and sting a bit at first. Rub in circular motions for a couple mins and lightly rinse off and dab the skin dry. I usually do this at night before bed and pop on castor oil every other night. Cetraben is also good for moisturising but i use this more on my hands as its quite heavy for the face.

Hoppetyflop · 09/02/2020 08:54

Forgot to add, for my daughter, i use a.microfibre face cloth soaked in a bit of thr solution and wipe across her face for a few mins the rinse and moisturise with aveeno cream
