I am after a lovely pair of stud earrings that can become a permanent feature but won't give me a headache. Would love some suggestions please.

I swear by the Studex earrings that piercers use. Real gold plated, or stainless steel, and you can get all sorts of designs on eBay for a couple of quid a pair.

homemadecommunistrussia · 28/01/2020 20:55

I always wear small silver studs ( occasionally little hoops) I only take them out for a bit off variety.
How are your earrings giving you a headache? Confused
Accessorize is good for silver studs, my sleepers are from h samuel. here

Earrings with an andralok fastening, from Argos.

dementedpixie · 28/01/2020 21:05

I have studs with a little ball that screws on at the back. Got them from a piercing studio

bonzo77 · 28/01/2020 21:06

Labret bars. Flat back and the decorative part on the front is the smaller bit (as opposed to the butterfly on the back of normal ones). Piercing places do them. And Lovisa. Like this www.lovisa.co.uk/products/silver-pave-flatback-8mm-6pk-for-lobe-helix-daith-16gx1-2mm

I got these recently which have been fantastic for sleeping in etc and I have very sensitive ears!

I wear very small hoops. That way I can sleep comfortably without the backs jabbing into the back of my ear

Amara123 · 28/01/2020 21:31

I love this company, have a few of their studs.

Pandora small hoops, that click shut and so have no sharp bits to dig in whilst sleeping!

LemonScentedStickyBat · 28/01/2020 21:54

“Hinged snap” hoops are great for sleeping in

ClientQueen · 28/01/2020 21:56

I have small hoops, the type you need someone else to put in Grin
The piercer put them in for me, I have 6 (3 in each ear) and they're v comfy

Imonlydoingwhatican · 28/01/2020 21:58

I have ted baker gold hearts. I forget i have them in. Best studs ever, all the others have bothered my ears.

fastliving · 28/01/2020 22:41

I use small studs with screw backs from the piercers or tiny gold hoops from Etsy.

sweetiesfee · 28/01/2020 22:48

I wear studs that can be used in the tragus/ lip areas. They are flat backed with a screw fastening at the front (so can change gems etc.) I found conventional studs hurt my neck at night and always fell out

Grafittiqueen · 28/01/2020 22:55

Huggie hoops are good for sleeping in.

JaneJeffer · 28/01/2020 23:27

I've got a tiny gold pair from Tesco and the backs stay on firmly!

Anything with a fairly flat design, either metal (sterling silver, or gold vermeil, either just metal or with diamond or CZ according to budget), then get some ‘lock’ backs (which are about £10 from jewellers).

I have been wearing studs day & night for last 20+ years, also swim/sleep everything in: the lockable backs make a huge difference in security

I have also had small hoops but they occasionally came undone when I was sleeping

Oblomov22 · 13/10/2022 00:06

I struggle with this, all of my little Earings I order don't fit the bill and cause me irritation. whereas I never had this before.

The only ones that I've NEVER had irritation with are titanium ones from with bling. My ears are really bloody fussy and they work great

I wear the ones from the jewellers, usually ask for the ones they use for ear piercing and gold then choose what size ball it is. Never take them out and I my replace them when I accidentally loose the back of one or something.

Ladyofthelake53 · 13/10/2022 05:39

I wear andralok plain sterling silver smallish studs
