Anti-perspirant/deodorant for 9 year old

My nearly 9 year old is taking more of an interest in showering independently and describes herself as a bit sweaty/whiffy at times. She’s showing early signs of puberty so my guess is she’s sending changes in her body etc.

I don’t want to start down the road of harsh chemicals etc when she’s so young - any suggestions of an anti-perspirant that might be suitable for her?

Moogoo.

Two family members with extremely sensitive skin love it, so hopefully should be fine for your dd.

A pitrok, all health stores sell them and some larger Boots/supermarkets. They neutralise the bacteria that causes the odour and, depending on how sweaty she gets, only need to be used every couple of days.

Nuud. Converted whole family including v sweaty stinky DH god love him. Comes in tube made from sugar and you end up needing to put it in every few days. Google it. It is fab.

DS uses Salt Of The Earth natural deodorant spray. He started needing it just as he turned 10. It’s not loads of chemicals, comes in a pump spray or stick and works really well.

Thank you, I’ll do a bit of shopping and see if one appeals to her more than the others 😁

My DD had a Schmidt's stick one. Keep it somewhere warmish though

Mine used Sukin which we get at TKmaxx and the year sell it in Boots now.

dementedpixie · 26/01/2020 20:41

My dd just used bog standard anti perspirant. Theres no evidence that ingredients in anti perspirant causes any issues.

All of my kids were wearing deodorant at 9, it's pretty normal - some kids will be earlier, some later.
We use Sure roll on. The blue one dries quickly. I don't like sprays as I think it can't be healthy to breathe in all the deodorant particles after you spray it on in a small bathroom.

DD12 and DS 14 use Mitchum cream deodorant which is quite hard core but their sweat smells esp after PE and walking to and from School and no one wants to be that kid with BO

TantricTwist · 26/01/2020 21:35

None of us use a spray deodorant as DS has asthma

Ooh @MrsArchchancellorRidcully Nuud is good, then? I've been wondering - looks great but am innately suspicious of their Instagram advertising!

SmallestInTheClass · 27/01/2020 13:06

My DD started needing it aged 7, smelly armpits (checked with GP and no underlying issues). She uses the Dove zero percent roll on one and has been fine for over a year.

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 28/01/2020 10:52

Zinnia I can absolutely recommend it. Give it time. DD and DH took a few weeks of using it every day and now only need it every other day. I'm now down to once a week!!! We
