Where to get prom dresses?!

Help! Ds has her year 11 prom in June.

Where did your dd get her prom dress? Dd would like to hire a dress rather than buy one. She thinks she'd prefer a short dress.

Thank you!

Whenever I go shopping there’s one shop I always walk past and never go in. I think the stuff in there is cheap, common and tacky.
But wow the prom dresses are so lovely and reasonably prices at Quiz!
If your DD wants to hire for environmental reasons maybe she could sell afterwards or give away to someone in the year below who doesn’t have much money for their prom?

Look for dress hire shops near you? They won’t be cheap though. ASOS sale would be where I would look and keep the dress for college/university!

Lots of kids order from Chichi London. Full of pretty prom dresses.

DD got hers second hand on ebay, I am glad we bought it and it was a reasonable cost as she trod on the hem and ripped it at some point in the evening.

Both of mine bought dresses on ASOS. Just regular party dresses.

Not expensive compared to what some people spend, around £50-60 each, and we sold them on eBay afterwards.

Have started a similar thread. Search my posts for more recommendations but sexyme.com (I think) came up a lot. Also try asos and chi chi london. Dorothy perkins and quiz have loads to chose from as well.

Debenhams, quiz, possibly John Lewis

Hi OP, if you join this group on FB and put 'mumsnet' in the questions you'll hopefully be able to find a dress.

Pageant dress sell/swap U.K.

It's a group I run for the resale of pageant gowns so plenty of glitz for not a lot of money. You can then put up what you're looking for etc.
