Hair Styling Question

I have poker straight thick hair like this ... (this isn’t me, sadly. It’s a model). It’s the same colour too. I’d like to achieve her “bend”. Not curls just a kind of “wave/movement” look. I’m hopeless with hair; don’t own a hairdryer. It gets washed and left because it’s blunt cut and hangs like a curtain. And most of the time it’s up, under a hat.

Could I get the look with something like this heated barrel wand? Don’t want to spend much as I might not be able to do it/be faffed/like it. Thanks 😊

What about if you plait it or when it's drying put it behind your ears is it still poker straight?

Hadn’t thought of that. Will give it a go 😊

Yes I suspect that's how hers was done - curl lightly, uncurl then pull downward with the tong while the hair is still twisted.

Look for 'undone waves tutorial' and similar on YouTube for good techniques

I suggest following Kristen Ess on instagram the sort of ‘barely there bend’ is her go-to style and she did a mini tutorial on it today.

Also Kayley Melissa on YouTube has lots of videos on how to achieve this sort of thing!
