Fitflops leather trainers in the rain?

Ordered a bargain pair of black leather fitflop trainers in the sale for a city break next month. They arrived today and are super comfy, but there's a sticker on the sole that says "to preserve the colour of the uppers, avoid exposure to water". Please tell me they'll survive a wet weekend in Edinburgh?

I've got a pair and I've worn them in light rain. They don't seem to have any damage. I'd prefer choose boots in heavy rain though as I imagine they would keep my feet drier.

The dye can run onto your feet otherwise it's fine

Where is the bargain from please?!!

Spray them liberally with a leather protection spray (as long as they’re not patent leather!). Do this a couple of days in a row and then you should be good to go.

Wear dark socks, spray with waterproofing spray - mine are fine in light rain/drizzle but I wouldn't wear them in all day torrential rain, I'd go for boots. They are SUPER comfy for walking miles in. I've walked hours on end in them and they have never rubbed/given my blisters. I go for the plainest black leather utilitarian looking ones. Love them.
