Kipling v Leather Handbag

I have a Tula leather handbag that I've had for years and the lining is worn but the leather is still good. Its a cross body bag with compartments. However, it got too heavy (because of the leather) so I bought a Kipling bag for day time which is nice and light and handy with all the pockets and key fob.

But I've now seen a leather bag in M&S and I have vouchers and money off and I am so tempted to buy it. Its a scoop type bag which is the style I really love, it does have a shoulder strap and a long strap to go across the body but I don't know how it would work with the shoulder strap as it is. It also doesn't have many compartments, no key fob (I feel I need that to keep my keys safe), just a mobile phone pocket and an interior zip.

I love the Kipling but I miss having a leather bag day to day. Any advice? I don't want to waste money or my vouchers.

Are the straps detachable? It sounds like you love the bag but if the key fob is a dealbreaker...

The long strap is detachable but not the shoulder strap.
